Wenn ich so erstklassiges Werkzeugs bei meinem ersten Bogen zur Verfügung gehabt hätte dann hätte mir die Arbeit an meinem Ersten Bogen drei Mal so viel Spaß gemacht. Schönes Video von euch! DZdkf.!

Agreed! I started out with simple tools and broke many bows. This is one reason I am very happy to help people learn the craft so it is more enjoyable. Thank you for the comment!

I know this has been a while but I have a lot of black walnut- can you make a mollegabet of that? Will you?
@BowtellBows2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a great idea! I have acquired a nice lot of walnut staves that would work nicely for a mollegabet style bow. Not sure when I would be able to get to it but I would like to give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

Awesome video, where can one get that graph you have @ the tillering board? Love it!

Thank you! I found it at a local fabric store. It is obviously meant for bow making but I guess it can be used to measure and cut out large pieces of fabric.

What were the measurements on this bow? I would like to try this for my first bow.
@BowtellBows3 жыл бұрын
Wonderful! Always exciting to start your first bow. It is a 6 foot bow with the nocks cut 1 inch in on both sides. It has a 4” handle section that is offset from the center of the bow, 1 inch up and 3 below center. We made the limbs of the bow about 1.25 inches wide until the middle of the limb then tapered down to the .5 inch wide nocks. Let me know if that helps.

Great vid man! Was this from a stave or board?
@BowtellBows4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. This was from a piece of lumber he bought off the Internet intended for bows. Not a bad piece of wood and turned a good bow.

@@BowtellBows awsome! Yeah looks like it worked out real well! As you were asking for suggestions on woods to work I'd love to see a black locust vid.. I'm getting the ring chasing down but I'd still love to see you make a vid on a BL stave. Chasing rings and trapping it n what not. Keep up the good work guys! Always enjoy more bow building vids
