W59 is better than the F-91w in every possible way. -Better strap -50 vs 30m water resist -Better finish -Bigger screws and o'ring -Better light (barely)

W59 is underrated👍 It pops even better when it’s on your wrist and gives it a very nice contrast. It also suddenly becomes alive on your wrist. I’d say it’s more elegant and traditional and somewhat sophisticated compared to the f91w. F91w gives me the 90s vibe with sharp lines & edges and w59 the late 80s vibe oozing retro future. Both are great iconic designs from the postmodernism era.

Very nice review. I own them both and they make me happy every day, by just alternating. You can wear them all day long, without ANY problem - light, reliable and very good looking.

Idk why but the W59 reminds me of the street fighter font color. The gold and red colors almost look like yellow and red

I have both, and I think the W59, in addition to everything you mentioned, has a slightly thicker rubber strap. But for everyday use, I still prefer the F-91W because of its iconic design.

@@francohic Sorry, unfortunately I can't confirm. My W59 is much newer. I've had it for about 1 year and so far the strap still like new. I think if it lasts another year or two it will still be worth it.

I have 3 fake F91W(poor timekeeping) and one genuine.I now wear the W59 as it is genuine and better waterproofing with the same unobtrusive small wristprint. I have many much more expensive watches which I rarely use

Nah, love my F91w. Love that has a name on the watch dial, love the WR logo at the bottom. No lugs. Wore it in the Olympic pool this summer with no issue. Light is fine and its screen is better scratch resistant than I thought. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I still preferring the F-91W, the 59w has a childish design, idk, more round corners and graphics on the face, for me looks a bit old, that's not bad but the F-91W although looks old too seems more contemporary, like some retro design that aged well. But both are great watches and the 50 meters water resistant of the 59W is a big plus. I enjoy your videos man, keep it up!

Little known secret: Casio actually made a version of the W - 59 with a nato strap and an all black-and1gray dial. I have it, some glimpses of it can be seen in some of my videos,and I plan to review it on my channel… I might be biased, but I think it looks killer!

Brand aside the Skmei 1412 beats both watches £7.00. Had my Skmei 2 years , it works with no issues, is waterproof and the backlight is awesome. I also own a W86 and IMO at £16.99 from Argos in the UK i think this offers the best value for money out of all of the square full resin watches in the casio range

Very true. I needed a beater and also a sleepwatch basically so that i avoid looking at my phone in the middle of the night for a quick time check. But the f91w's backlight didn't help. I tried other digital watches but none of those are as small simple and comfortable to wear while sleeping as the f91w. I struggled but still used it with the shady backlight until i grabbed myself thr skmei 1412, the backlight is AMAZING, and surely a bang for the buck!

the only downside with Skmei is the movements suck, they lose time quite quickly compared to even the cheapest offerings from casio.

@@UFA-jc8gu interesting, I’ve compared the 1412 with a Casio F91w and found that within 2 days the skmei has lost over 2.5 seconds, that’s an average of a second a day, and personally bothers me heavily. But this is a sample size of one.

The F91 30m water resist good for rainy day and hand washing and shit backlight. The W59 I own one! Same as f91 but with 50m water resist. Good for a swim or shower but same shit backlight. Those two watches is only 1,- difference. You can pay 5,- extra For the W-217H-1AEF It has a illuminator good backlight and 50 meter resist But I didn’t like the looks of the W-217H and I went for the W59

@@lengda I agree ☝️ I have also a g-shock. Very good watch! Has solar, multiband6 and Bluetooth. I just hope for a W-59 or F-91W to have solar and multiband 6 much smaller watch on you’re wrist and very light

The design of F91 is better being more streamlined, while W59 because of the bigger bezel looks that much more chunkier. The F91 is well known to have WR well beyond specification so I wouldn't worry it being less than W59 on paper. Both are good watches, however F91 can be scooped for much lower price as I'm typing this the price difference is close to double, so at least for me W59 isn't worth twice the price hence why I believe it will never gain the icon status like F91.

I have both. In the UK, the price increase on the W59 is not justified. However, I bought it because of the design. If you want one with great backlight *and* water resistance at a terrific price, buy a W86. PS. Both mine are on Nato straps. The F91W was an easy swap, the W59 was an absolute pig to change. You have been warned.

Only issue is the W59 is $30 when it should be a $20 watch or less. Then you have the W86 that's the W59 and F105 mixed together that's stupidly not available in the US. That watch costs $25 and can be imported from Amazon.

They're both about the same in terms of being able to handle day to day tasks. The improved water resistance doesn't mean much if both watches are used for everyday tasks as intended.

I’m just not as big of a fan of the thickness of the A168. The A1000D is great! I got one and it feels incredible, the one issue I have with it….the negative display on the one I got.

To be honest, the W59 is an odd watch, in my eyes. It's a good aesthetic, as it basically mirrors the F-91W, and the extra water resistance is nice, but if you're going to put out another watch, why keep the same famously-terrible backlight? That feels like a missed opportunity.

I prefer the bad light. At night, in pitch dark, it is perfect , and doesn't wake me up. It's just bright enough to be visible, in a gentle way. And wastes less battery

You have the F105W with better light that covers all screen. I still prefer the W59 with its bigger screws, bigger buttons and a little thicker font.
