She appears to take as a given that lawyers are supposed to “distract” juries away from the real issues of a case, and that is how they win. What we regard as unethical she sees as an advantage.

She seems to line up really well with the principle that 'a thief is someone who thinks that everyone steals'. Just thinking about it now has reminded me of the way she had asked that man on the way back from Aussie with her smth like 'had he ever been so angry with someone that he'd just lost it?' and then when he replied no, from what I remember he said, she didn't seem to believe him

You are absolutely right. Her defense was based on lies and that means distracting everyone from the truth. That was obvious when watching the trial and the jury saw it too and the reason why she lost. She still does what she does best- manipulating and lying. Probably has lifelong experience.

The public saw even more evidence than the jury so who does she think she's fooling? We all heard her admit to cutting off his finger tip on that recording that wasn't admitted into evidence because of other people in the recording. We also heard her admit she accused him because she had 21 days before being evicted. She needs to give it a rest. The world is done believing her lies.

She had millions of dollars to her name at the time! She could have bought a house and moved anywhere she wanted to. Her mooching friends, on the other hand, might have been a little more strapped for cash and had nowhere to go. Hey. They were no worse off than they were when they moved into Johnny's penthouse apartments rent free. It makes me really angry when I think about how much Amber and her friends (including her sister) took advantage of, and actually stole from, Johnny. What goes around comes around, though. Karmic balance must always be maintained. They will not fare well.

That is exactly what she means. It's not a slip, it was intentional projection & gaslighting. I'm no Dr Curry but I've had to spend 50 years with a mother who was only diagnosed as Malignant Narcissism & Histrionic 10 years ago. My abusive ex is diagnosed as Malignant Narcissism with Sociopathic Tendencies AND suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury of his frontal lobe when he was an Army Ranger with the 82nd Airborne. He has to be on testosterone therapy for the rest of his life because that Injury resulted in scar tissue on his pituitary gland. So we have roid rage to deal with now as well. My current husband's ex wife is diagnosed as BPD & Histrionic, the same as Dr Curry diagnosed Amber. His ex wife is also the great great granddaughter of Devil Anse Hatfield's youngest daughter Rose. If you know anything about American History in the Appalachian area you'll know the history of the Hatfield's & McCoys. That right there in a nutshell sums up how "Special" she's been for the last 10 years. She even bragged to the Judge that she's not only a proud b*tch, she's a proud b*tch with a pedigree. I went No Contact with my mother 12 years ago & for the most part it's been lovely. The only exception being when she & my ex team up & take turns making false reports to CPS. They make them anonymously but just like Amber is projecting what her lawyers were doing I deal with the same thing. All 9 of the false reports of me being an abusive & neglectful mother ARE ALL things my mother did to me. Often times she even goes as far as saying it happened at the same place she abused ME. That used to be extremely painful because by accusing ME of it my mother is admitting she knows what she did was abuse. If there is anything I have learned to take away from this though it's to PAY ATTENTION. They all like to think they are so clever & so unique yet they pull the exact same dirty tricks. You have to learn to laugh at how pathetically predictable they all are. 1 it helps you keep your sanity & 2 it takes the pain out of their ploy & empowers YOU.

That was my first impression over that remark. Think through a narcissistic mind. Take a mental walk as one & you will figure out how they rationalize their perception of reality & events. I watched the trial from beginning to end. I did a study on her mannerisms & behaviour/ reactions. There is a facial pattern that goes with certain verbiage. She has a definite pattern. I see it played out in the interview. I know jokes have been made about bad acting (made plenty of those myself). I had to rethink that. She's insecure. So why not use some of her learned acting skills to be credible. She's playing a part. Her perception of reality isn't that of a rational thinking person. So any confirmation of her behaviour only solidifies that she is right & everyone is wrong. Now we get her gaslighting. She in her mind won the UK why not this one. If she can get what she wants in the court of public opinion, it absolves all judgement in the court of law. In her mind.

Absolutely agree! The problem for me, watching this crap, is that these interview questions are not surprises. She knew what they were in advance. If her attorneys are advising her on how to answer, then they are worse than we ever imagined. If, on the other hand she is writing her own script or just ignoring counsel's advice, then she is dumber than we ever imagined.

There is live audio of Elaine whispering to Dr spiegel before his testimony- you have to isolate it and turn it up, but you can hear him make a comment where his testimony is not going to be factual- she says yes. (I hear “I will lie in my testimony”-others hear something else, but it adds to the same thing) he then goes on to ask if there is something he shouldn’t or can’t talk about, she says no.

Funny how certain statements a person makes, can mean different things to some of us. The way I looked at her statement regarding 'distraction', I took it as 'her' attempts to distract, not her lawyers. In fact, I thought it was a common element throughout her testimony at trial. Very interesting analysis, BBB.

Watching Heard's lawyers was a bit like watching someone scrape the crusty bits off the bottom of a frying pan in a desperate bid to create something palatable. Hardly surprising as they didn't have much to work with from the start. But again, this is Heard's narcissism showing itself - blaming anyone and anything else rather than taking responsibility.

Does it mean that HER lawyers "FAILED to distract" the jury. OF COURSE. What she wanted was the jury to be 'distracted" so they wouldn't "CATCH ON" to her (endless!) LIES. Just see how the "rando" witness former TMZ employee Morgan Tremayne, during his cross-examination by Camille, supplied the jury with crucial information they didn't have: namely, that the version of the "cupboard-slamming" video that was admitted into evidence was conveniently EDITED to eliminate the parts showing Amber setting up the camera IN ADVANCE of the argument that led up to the slamming, that she HID the camera from him with her cup, AND smirking triumphantly at the camera at the end, all of which demonstrated that the whole video was a SET-UP of Johnny, AND that the video had indeed come to TMZ from Amber, seeing as how TMZ were able to have it up on their site within FIFTEEN MINUTES of receiving it! Remember that she said she "knew nothing about it" RIGHT THERE IN COURT- and then Morgan came along with his testimony and shot that LIE down in FLAMES. No wonder all Amber's team had to work with was 'distraction"!

That exactly what she means. People tend to project their own motivations onto others (there is even a saying to that effect in my native German). Her team's game plan was to distract the jury and focus their attention onto Jonny's failings instead of her dishonesty. She must assume that distraction was Depp's team's plan, too, and they were - in her mind - more successful at it.

I absolutely agree. One of her medical staff had written about Amber's alcohol & drug-taking, hence them bombarding Johnny about his. Unfortunately, their personal nurse told their personal doctor (who was with them in Australia) all of the drugs, etc Amber was on when she cut Johnny's finger off. It's on the Australia tape that wasn't permitted into evidence in court - why? Johnny's lead security guy had since passed away, or Dr Kipper wouldn't allow his secretly recorded interactions in Australia to be allowed into evidence? But yes, I agree. Also, in one part of the interview, Amber even says something that reveals that she truly was the abuser. It was a slip of the tongue when talking about who the "instigator" (?) was. In what's been revealed so far, Amber lets lots slip. She thinks we're stupid. She's so full of herself. She's absolutely shocked that the jury saw through her... just as almost all of the viewing world has seen through her.

No, I think what she meant was JD's lawyers did a better job "destructing the jury" (with actual evidence) then SHE did with her false testimony. (I do agree on that it was a Freudian slip.) Remember how many times she has been told by the court to look at the lawyer when she was answering in the cross exam but she was desperately looking at the jury members? She was trying to find somebody supporting her words. She was trying her acting skills to make an effect (destructing) to avoid the weight of the evidence. "It was the best acting of her lifetime" as Camille have said in her closing argument, but no one have ever said it was good acting.

You are correct, but only after your self-reflection. Amber and her lawyers definitely set out to "distract" the jury. 🚨🚨🚨People tell on themselves when you let them talk and listen carefully. If her actions back her words then she just told on herself, if her actions don’t back her words then the first thought 💭 you mentioned comes to light. Now, with that being said, her actions have spoken more than the narrative she wants us all to believe. If you listen carefully to her words when she is given a platform to talk all she wants without being stopped and compare her words to her actions then you can come to a conclusion. We don’t need a person to explain themselves when their actions are speaking clearly for them. ❤️

I think the goal of her lawyers was to keep the spot light on her, and make sure that JD was always cast in the worse light, but typical to AH, she doesn't blame herself for her poor acting and histrionics and over the top behavior, she subtley casts aspersions on her legal team. The facts are that JD's team focused on the evidence, proof, and the truth, while her team was trying to pull the wool over the jury's eyes, because they knew their case is based on flimsey 'facts' and lies.
