Chinese productions typically didn’t record dialogue on set since movies would have to be dubbed and subbed in different dialects anyway.
@Grandmastergav865 ай бұрын
but it's Chow Yun Fat's real voice and it's awesome, he kinda does a Tony Montana accent, it's perfection. I wish Hollywood producers didn't just try and make Chow repeat his Hong Kong classics because he's a FANTASTIC comedy actor, he could've made so many great movies.

@@tmplblck that explains why alot of the mainstream Chinese movies from 80s and early 90s, sounded kinda dubbed even tho they are speaking actual Cantonese and it's the actors actual voices. This thing has always bugged me, but now it makes sense

@astergav86 Another thing, he did his lines phonetically, he didn't speak English at the time. I think he did a fantastic job, especially considering that.

@Etendard17084 ай бұрын
It's only obvious. The first one is really deep and meaningful. About an older brother who was deeply involved in the crime life but wants to change his life for his father and his brother.
