Answering from the US, my grandson's father was born and raised in Ireland. He too is a poet. So I sent him your Irish concept of age in hopes that he will make use of it as he grows farther away from his youth. A happy day to you! PS: One day, when my grandson was 4 or 5 (he's 27 now), I said to him, "Justus, I feel soooooo old today!" He studied me for a minute, and then he said, "But, NaNa, you don't look old....You look... new!" 😂That's one of the few things that keeps me going!"

You look NEW - what could be better!!! Right now I am teaching some young blind and visually impaired writers and when they found out I'm 55, one of them said, "But you don't FEEL old!" which I took as a huge compliment. It seems you and I are doing quite well! Thank you so much for visiting here and for making my week.

@katechadbournebard you are so welcome. And thank you for making mine. Now, being 71, I don't always feel like I look so new except for a few new creases. 😂But now, I only have to feel young to others. I think I can do that.

So, I’m 10 years into the “years that don’t matter”. So be it. I intend to make the most of it. Thank you for doing this. You are an inspiring seanchái.

Go raibh maith agat, a chara dhil! And let's definitely make the most of this time and in fact, I think we should tweak this proverb, too. I'm in the "20 years declining" section, and I'd like to say, "twenty years when you finally have a clue about who you are and what really matters to you," and for your section, how about "twenty years when you will REALLY sing your songs and share your art and your heart and have a great time?" That is what I wish for you, anyway -and also what you seem to be doing so well!

Yes. Indeed. I spent the first decades of my life watching and listening, particularly with being an introvert empathetic type. Seeing peers mouthing off about things and me thinking it a little shallow. Indeed the waters of their present life were rather shallow; bawling from the paddling pool. Youth is wasted on the young, said Oscar Wilde. Like your good self I'm stacking up the decades into my mid 50s and finding myself speaking more. Judiciously- I still see a lot of mouthing off, more so, and being a long time observer of people I've seen how words can bounce off and flutter to the ground. Thus I have learnt to choose time, place and company for best reception. Wise use of wisdom. And look at the elders put up to apparently lead. Looking at one country leading the stumble into oblivion. A bumbling fool and foolish bumbler. One might wonder if there's a conspiring to turn us away from our roots, to laugh off the old and hold our gaze to the neon gods we've made. Thankyou. Your videos are inspiring and bring hope. 🍀🙏🍀
