A Better Way to do Short Term Missions | Thoughts from Actual Missionaries

Oh short term teams… while we’re not huge fans of the typical American understanding of short term missions (the inflated sense of self and the belief that lives will be truly transformed through a single cross cultural encounter). We do still think there is opportunities for Short term teams to learn, observe and encourage their brothers and sisters in Christ that are living in a different cultural settings.
We're a Texas family of 4 living in Northern Uganda, since 2012. We're trying to unveil some mysteries, and reduce the stereotypes around Missionary life in Africa.
