A Better Way to Play 4-Player Kill Team!

This is a new ruleset I made to play 2 versus 2 Kill Team. This 4 player kill team set-up will let you play matches with the same terrain and board, and in the same time as regular Kill Team. This is done by reducing your miniature count to half, and giving you half the number of CP and EP.

When I did this we each ran one "Fire" team instead of a full "Kill team." It was loads of fun and the team combos are so cool. It would be really fun for narrative games reimagining battles from lore!

I'm not sure about this. You say that a bigger board nerfs melee, but if you keep deployment zones along the edge that didn't increase in length by doubling, you're not actually starting further away. I'd suggest doing that. I could see shooting teams with infinite range abusing this on a double sized board, but with good terrain placement this shouldn't be as much of an issue as it might seem. Think of an into the dark game with walls everywhere.

Those are really good points. A lot of where this came from was in my group, everyone but me only owns enough terrain for a normal sized Kill Team board. And we wouldn’t coordinate and would end up with 4 people and 1 set of terrain. So it was a solution for 4 people to play with that limited set of terrain. But now that we have more terrain, your idea is an easy way to handle it

Hi, I just found this video now :-). And I like the idea! As one of the people here wrote in the comments I was wondering, if increasing the board is really an issue. Especially since there are 4 Player Missions in the regular books. But I saw this happening. Nonetheless, this is rather an issue how you set the terrain and not on the board size. The main issue with regular 4 player games, that one game takes longer than a normal game of 1vs1. Because you have simply more models on the board. Therefore your rule set allows to play two games instead of one in the same time as for a normal 4vs4 game. Additionally they enable a more balanced 3 Player game, which I found to be difficult with the standard rules. Normally one of the 3 players is blown up during the first turning point. Also your list building shows the principle how to build a „Team“ of Kill Teams. The biggest issue I see, you mentioned already. It is the lore part. But in 40k millennium there are several examples of alliances of convenience. So this is also not really an issue if both factions think, they would „use“ the allied team to there advantage against a stronger enemy ;-).
