Nice one Peter. Got caught out in a blizzard and cut the day short and headed down while doing these 2. Not much cover up there but managed Carn na Caim, old icicles on the eyebrows. Still to do A'Bhuidheanach Bheag. Did the 4 across the road mate. It was a long walk back to the cottages. Great video again Peter. Cheers pal.

Thanks Scot, Aye a can imagine the icy wind blowing right over the plateaus up there, No where to hide from it. Bagged two across the road a few years back, Great views over Loch Ericht, Ben Alder way. Should have kept going for the other two but didnt have enough time and the deer stalkers were oot doing there thing too. Had icicles coming out my snottery nose once up in Glen Shee lol! -13 winds, its no nice is it? :)))

It's great to see what these mountains look like without snow! I attempted these two in November last year, with two friends. The weather forecast was for -15 windchill, so I bought a balaclava for £30 the day before, which was three times the cost of my winter boots, which I bought second-hand, online. It was my first winter walk, and I loved it. I felt toasty warm in my balaclava and the decades-old boots were great. We did the climb up to the ridge in reasonably good time, but when we got up there, we were sinking into the snow up to our thighs. It took us hours to reach Carn na Caim, and with the sun going down at 5pm, there wasn't enough time to do A'Bhuidheanach Bheag (I love how you pronounce that one!). We got no views - total whiteout. But we had such a great time, with loads of laughs. It gave me the winter walking bug.

I climbed Meall Chuaich the Munro a few miles north of Carn na Caim in jan 2016. it was already knee deep in parts with snow, And half way up i got a call from my pal telling me of blizzard snow in Glasgow. I could literally see the snow moving north from about 20-30 miles away as the wind was light. Timed it perfect as it caught up as i got back to my car, But the journey home to Glasgow was mental! Knee deep by the time i got back LOL! But you are correct, These Munros seem suited for snow. Seem more busier then. Snow certainly changes the mood, But a -15 wind chill..........Nah!! ha ha ha! Thanks Natalie :)))

Oooft! Next time I attempt them I'll bring my snowshoes! And that balaclava was one of the best £30 I've ever spent - kept me toasty warm :)

Great wide open spaces up there Peter with big views. Loved the view over to Ben Alder one of the great remote Munro's. Fine rolling hills these, passed many a time on the A9 hopefully get up there one day. Take care. Mick.

Great hike Peter i got tired watching because i'm just back from a loch side camp. Sitting in the sun enjoying the view having a drink and eating by a beach campfire. Was a fantastic starry night 3 shooting stars 2 satellites at Loch Rannoch. Back on the horse soon though lol. Looked like a good winter camp/hike spot , abit exposed but thats why i bought a hilleberg. Hope you have a busy munro end of year the last 2 years haven't been what you've wanted , TBH i've never had a great winter season yet some great camps/trips but not enough of them.ATB.
