I finished Heartstopper Volume 1 in an hour and I LOVED IT!!!! I'm only 87 pages into The Gentlemen's Guide and I'm liking so far. I appreciate you speaking up and going out of your way to educate yourself. It’s a really draining time to be black, honestly. It feels like everyone is pretending to realise we exist as if we haven’t been here all along, and it’s hard to tell who’s genuine in their support and who’s just scrambling to make a statement before they receive backlash. It’s also frustrating to see people only NOW waking up from being so ignorant and oblivious to everything that’s been going on for YEARS. I’m tired of being told to feel grateful that at least it’s finally happening. The bar is SO low. White people shouldn’t be applauded for showing basic humanity. Although I guess it’s better late than never, I also hate that something had to happen for people to wake up to something that’s always been an issue and always been spoken about. The movement is only now getting the respect it deserves because of the white allies speaking up. The world is deaf to the sound of black voices, it seems.

Thriftbooks is American and can get pretty pricy for Canadians. Currency is in USD only and they don't offer free shipping to Canada so you can end up spending $10-15 CAD on one used book (and not always in great condition either). Unless it's hard to find, might as well buy it new book and support the author and local bookstore.
