Heck yeah, Toady is so good!!! I love that one. Hope you love it too! Also, Something Wicked is truly great as well - I can't wait to hear what you think of it. I would also love to read Hell House and The Doll who Ate his Mother if you are up for a buddy read at some point when you get to those! If not, no worries! Also want to read The Wells of Hell! Been meaning to read it for ages. Awesome list - good luck with this fun project 🎉🤩

Cheers, Kelsi! 😀Am so psyched for a year-long dive into some awesome horror! Heck yeah, I'm absolutely up for a buddy read of either (or both) of Hell House/The Doll Who Ate His Mother, that'd be fantastic. Highly likely I'll be getting to those in April, so they'll be some Old School April reading if you're running the event again next year (please say you are! 😉) Will give you a shout early in March and see what we can fit in! 👍

Hahahhaha The Ceremonies has been on my to read list for AGES. Something Wicked is AMAZING. That version of the Devil and his works looks amazing. Don't have too high expectation for the Rats....the SEQUEL is great though. Kelsi is the Toady master. Yessss.....yesss The Auctioneer is the best. Kathe KOJA IS THE BEEEEST. Best of luck on the project!

Cheers, Andrew - should be a fun project! Haha, expectations are suitably tempered for The Rats 🐀 Really looking forward to the Kathe Koja - sounds properly creepy and dark 👍 Thanks for the inspiration with that one 😀

Some great stuff here! I’ve read a decent chunk of these but not all. Looking forward to your thoughts on these. I love The Cipher and The Other…and Hell House is a wild one!

Cheers! Really excited for all of these. The Cipher really intrigues me, think that might be right up my street. Fingers crossed I don’t give myself too many nightmares with this bunch of darkside dives! 😂

Awesome! Will be great to watch more serious horror content on your channel. Great pairings, especially Burnt Offerings (one of my best reads for 2024 ) and Cabal. Hell House is on my tbr. Toady is an underrated horror gem. The Cipher is very weird and very dark. Good luck with your project.

Cheers, Cliff! 😀Yeah, I know I've been less horror-focused this last year, but there'll be more of interest for you in 2025 for sure! Have got your best of 2024 video queued up in my Watch Later list, so looking forward seeing what you've got to say about Burnt Offerings (and all your other favourites for the year). The Cipher sounds very weird and very dark - just what I'm hoping for! 😂

Same as most people, I've read some of these, but not all! I actually just finished The Auctioneer (for the first time) last month, and it's definitely related to Needful Things, which I actually liked better. I hope you enjoy each and every book! I'm doing a King reading challenge also, and I'm only up to Night Shift!

Thanks! Am really excited to dive into all of these 😀 Great that you’ve got your own King project on the go. You’re ahead of me, I’m right at the start of mine, just finished Carrie last week. Am only reading the novels in publication order - trying to do all the collections at as well felt a bit too daunting for me! 😂 Have fun with all your King reading! 👍

Awesome bunch of reading ahead, my friend -- I look forward to your 2024 top 10! Happy end of year!

Cheers, buddy - looking forward to your top 10 too! We've timed in, I think - yours is due on Sunday too, isn't it? I'm not expecting any crossover whatsoever... 😂

@@alex_unabridged I can't imagine there is! Although you read three or four times the number of books I did in 2024, so maybe one snuck in there I'm not thinking of.

@@troytradup I think you’ll approve of a fair few of my picks, even if they’re not on your list for this year 😉

Another great project! We've got Fantasy (Tchaikovsky) in February, and Sci-Fi (Tiptree ) in... September, is it? Of course we need to add a Horror read to the mix. I've read some of these but not many, and even those are due a re-read. So, literally pick a book (or a pair of them) and I am down! (Also, I know you're going in publication order, but Needful Things is on my SK project list for April... February is _Cujo,_ in case that is more aligned with your timeline...)
@alex_unabridgedКүн бұрын
I thought you might like the look of this project! Of course we need a Horror title to complete our trio of favourite genres 😜Hmmm, how about _The Case Against Satan_ and/or _Toady_ - that's likely to be around June/July I reckon, possibly August depending on how much Trash Tales impacts my own personal reading time! Am open to other suggestions though, if there's anything you haven't read and really want to dive into... I won't get as far as _Needful Things_ this year, but so long as there aren't a ton of spoilers in your video I'll still watch 😊I should get to _Cujo_ around September/October if I manage to stay on track! If my plan pans out, I'll get as far as _Christine_ by the end of 2025, then as far as _Needful Things_ in 2026! Man, this is a looooooong project... 😂

@@alex_unabridged Those both sound great! I will follow your progress here but shoot me an email maybe when you're a month out or so, to remind me. I actually haven't read _The Exorcist,_ but I bought a copy a few months ago to ensure it be on my 2025 shortlist, so I will have just read it somewhat recently, it will be fun to compare with the first of these two. When I did my SK project I just read almost nothing but SK for a month, that made it a much shorter-term project! I also had only maybe 1/3 of his novels to get through. I do intend to re-read all of his short story collecitons in 2025, so we will see how long that takes me. I was pretty light on spoilers in my video on _The Long Walk,_ but somewhat middling on spoilers for _Lisey's Story._ I won't really know until I make the video how deep into spoiler territory I will need to go. _Needful Things_ has a bunch of fun little twists and turns, even if the overarching story is a little predictable, and I wouldn't want to spoil those for you! I will say, read it without expecting shocks or scares but instead more of a darkly comedic satire.
