Heya friends! Hope you like this grocery haul--keep in mind the price was definitely up there because we bought a lot of things organic and also picked up some spices and fun snacks lol. When I'm back in New York I can definitely share a budget grocery haul if you'd like!

nice to see that you are in the netherlands. the canned tomato = Polpa the tomatoes are skinned, removed from seeds and then finely chopped. Mutti polpa combines the juice of the tomato with the finely diced pulp. Because Mutti polpa contains more tomato juice than passata, it is suitable for dishes with a longer preparation time or with preparation at a high temperature.

I live in UK and my bf is Dutch. I love the Albert Heijn supermarkets in Holland! They have such a good range of tofu and Tempeh, I always buy about 20 packs when we go to visit. The fresh produce is also amazing and I think much better than we get in UK!

Totally agree--AH quality is really amazing! Prices are definitely higher than Jumbo or other, but I think the quality is worth it. :) Always love going.

Not sure if you have a video on this already but I would love to see one about how you store your produce or best practices to keep them fresher for longer. Sometimes my veggies go bad before I get the chance to eat them so any tips and tricks would be helpful!

you must try cooking fried tofu and tempeh in indonesian soy sauce kind of stir fry it with chopped tomatoes, garlic, shallot, chillies if you like spicy one it's staple food here. so good!!

Don‘t store potatoes and onions in the same spot. The potatoes will sprout faster because of the onion. Nice haul! I love the groceries in the netherlands! I was obsessed with the quorn deli slices that they have! Sadly they are not available in germany 🥺

As I hope to do an exchange semester in The Netherlands from February, I am super happy to see a bit of what's available there :D Also, I had no idea your boyfriend is not vegan ;P I have no idea why, but I just assumed he was :D Do you have a video when you talk about how you navigate it from the technical and emotional perspective? My boyfriend is not vegan either and it is also a long-distance relationship but I feel like if we ere to live together long-term, he'd have not choice ;P . Anyways, sending you all the love! I’ve discovered you recently and subscribed because I love that you are both vegan and gluten-free. I used to be vegan, but had to give it up when I was diagnosed with IBS and gluten sensitivity. Unfortunately at the time I lived in an area in Central England where the choice of foods that were both vegan and gluten free was practically non-existent, especially if wanting to eat out socially and not have to cook absolutely every meal from scratch. Things have got better now with the years and moving to a larger city, so it’s easier to eat meals that are both vegan and GF, but I’m still a “flexitarian” if anything - I can easily go a full day eating no animal products, but can’t sustain it throughout or my diet becomes too repetitive. I’m further hindered by the fact that my IBS is also exacerbated by other “popular” vegan foods/ingredients and have to follow a modified FODMAP diet - so apart from gluten, foods like peas, broccoli, apples and beetroot are also on the “no” list, as they exacerbate symptoms. I hope, however, that discovering more of your content and recipes will allow me to include more vegan and GF foods in my diet, and help me get back closer to my veggie roots :) I’m really enjoying watching through some of your older videos as well. They're readily available at a lot of grocery stores! I usually get mine at Albert Heijn, one of the main grocery store chains in NL
