That “3rd world” is actually the two worlds fusing back into one world as they were originally (something like since ouroboros is based off bonds, the strong bonds between characters caused the two worlds to become one instead of going their separate ways) and then it ties into the xenosaga and xenogears as well (I don’t know it’s complicated)

@Mr96POP Жыл бұрын
It seems you missed some context. You say that the ending of _Future Redeemed_ shows a third world, but that’s actually the two worlds merging. The two worlds splitting apart glow in yellow and blue lights (representing Agnus and Keves, respectively) with the shot fading to white, and in the next shot, you see the white light compress into one world with a green glow (like Ouroboros). In addition, you didn’t mention how Riku is the son of Riki. In FR, after the cutscene where Riku and Shulk talk to each other at Valak Mountain, you can go back to Riku’s workshop and interact with Lucky Seven. Riku then tells Matthew that his Masterpon is Melia and that Riku’s dad was a traveling companion of Melia, that being Riki. This conversation is required so that you can add Riku to the Community, so I’m guessing you mostly blazed through the story and didn’t interact with the Community that much. In addition, Fergus O’Donnell was cast as Rex in this game because they wanted an older voice. Al Weaver wasn’t permanently replaced, and he didn’t quit either. I asked Jimmy Livingstone (the voice director of the game) about Rex’s casting on Twitter last July, and he told me Fergus was cast for the role for his older voice and that he was told to match Al’s dialect. You also seem to say XC3 is intensely serious with not a lot of lighthearted moments, but that’s an exaggeration. The quests have lots of lighthearted moments (especially Ino’s Ascension Quest), and I’m not sure why you say Monolith Soft will make more games in the style of XC1 and XC3 as there’s no basis in your statement. Each game is very different, so there’s no “trend.” XC2 is still the best-selling game in the series by a huge margin, so why would Monolith Soft ignore that game? I understand you didn’t enjoy XC3 that much, but it really seems you’re basing your assessment off raw reaction rather than taking a deeper look at what’s actually happened.

Also I’m pretty sure that when Rex says “them” he’s referring to Logos and Pneuma, not Pyra and Mythra. This is more enforced by the camera focusing on Matthew’s Fists of the End (with pneuma’s core crystal) and N’s Sword of the End (which is implied to house the Logos Core crystal within). Essentially, the ending is all about Logos and Pneuma putting Ontos back in its rightful place as a system that can do more than arbitrate between them. Since both agreed that people should be preserved, not abandoned, ontos’s manufactured desire could not hold against them.

I adore Xenoblade 3. After finishing it the first time I immediately knew it was a contender for my favorite in the series, but my affection for XC1 being the game to get me hooked still held it high. But after Future Redeemed, it just elevated the whole experience to not just my favorite Xenoblade game, but my favorite game of all time. The themes are so resonant and the game explores them very thoroughly. That idea of wanting things to stay the same because you fear that progress will mean you lose things you love is so relatable. But FR shows us that it can be counterbalanced by the feelings of stagnation that many people feel because the world isn't letting them follow their dreams. The game proposes that we need a balance between progressive and conservative ideals because if we go full extreme in one, we are just willingly sacrificing good things for no reason. It's a theme that works on both a micro and macro level. That's not even to mention all of the more supplmental themes like living life to the fullest, how our memories inspire our decisions, and that conversation and companionship is more valuable than power or wealth. The characters share some of the best dialogue in the series, but they also do a good job of communicating without any dialogue at times so you really feel how deeply they are connected to each other by the end, especially Noah and Mio which is one of the best romances I've seen in fiction. Mio's lack of purpose is satisfied by Noah's goal, and Noah's emotional immaturity is evolved and strengthened by Mio's desire to have a lasting legacy. Their love for each other made both of them better people. Eunie and Taion connect with their trauma of past failures, and Sena and Lanz share in their feelings of worthlessness and wanting to feel like they are carrying their weight, each character motivated by a different set of circumstances that feel very realistic and heartbreaking. Watching them all come to terms with their shortcomings by the final moments of the game is powerful, because each one of them has a reason to not end the world. But they reconcile with the end and understand they need to move on in order to enjoy life to the fullest. And the gameplay is just every cool JRPG mechanic wrapped into one package. The boss fights are easily the best in the series, with the superbosses being really good tests of mechanical knowledge and making good setups, and the sidequests are much more dynamic and varied compared to other Xenoblade games. Exploration is a blast thanks to the reworking of the field skills from XC2 and the densely layered design of most areas that gives you lots of hidden areas to find. My only complaints about the game are very minor. Namely, balancing problems and some things being underutilized. I don't think I've played another JRPG where money was so unnecessary. You get all the good equipment from enemy drops and chests, so the shops are mostly just there for the sake of RPG tradition and not because they actually have anything valuable. I also find it strange how you aren't allowed to de-level yourself until you beat the game. Some have argued that it's because it would let you CP grind very efficiently which would break the game in half, but that creates another problem where if you don't level up your classes very much throughout the main story, you miss out on a lot of the fun in party building. If you want to experience that, you have to go out of your way to find higher level enemies to fight, which makes the level curve of the main story way too weak, especially if you get good at Chain Attacks, so breaking the game is kind of inevitable if you want to really explore all the options that the game gives you. The solution isn't to take the de-level option away, it should be to alter CP gain based on some other factor, like the max level you've been, or maybe just a flat rate for each enemy type. And finally, the classes themselves are very imbalanced. Tanks have always been pretty ineffective in Xenoblade so 3 doesn't really have much competition in that regard, but it feels like they were so close to getting it right because classes like Ashera and Mio are actually fairly good as long as you are controlling them. But an AI party member with a Tank class is borderline useless. Give the AI members support classes because they aren't going to be getting much aggro and won't be dealing as much damage as you. This also limits the usefulness of being able to swap party members mid-battle. It's a great feature, but one that I didn't feel much need to use. Long story short, the game could have been balanced better. Thanks to anybody who read this long rant. I could talk about Xenoblade 3 for hours if nobody stopped me.

I would agree. For about 90% of it. I don't like how Joran was handled and I feel the final boss could have had a lot stronger of an impact of Z really emphasized the fact that the group would be split up and lose all those memories of they succeeded in defeating him, including all the progress they have made as people since this journey began.
@jairekambui7738 Жыл бұрын
@@joelsasmad Oh I liked Joran. I thought his character tied into Lanz’s arc and the overall theme of not getting to choose your own destiny well. He was frustrated with the world and became disillusioned and detached, making him a perfect mobius candidate. In the end, after thinking about it, he decided that instead of lashing out against the world and his old friends, he would help the party out against the real reason everyone is stuck in this mess, mobius and Aionios itself. As for Z and the final battle, I think Z was handled well but I do think they should’ve introduced the idea that they’ll forget each other earlier. Apparently some side quests with Melia and Nia cover it, but it should’ve been in the main story. As for the forgetting part, I think the characters were so resolute in their thinking about wanting to dismantle Aionios, that they didn’t even consider it, but again, I think side quests fill in that gap. In terms of personal progress, you have to remember, that who these people are, that’s not really them, it’s who they had to be to live in this world. They all grew as people, but that growth wouldn’t have had to happen in that way had the world been normal. They were willing to give up everything they knew, because they knew it was wrong, it wasn’t the way it should be. If anything, their experiences and growth prepared them to make this choice. I do have my gripes with Origin as a final dungeon though. Mainly that it’s too long and doesn’t have much to do besides fighting waves of enemies, and there isn’t enough story to break it up. I still rank it higher than Prison island revisited as a final area because that was just boring. By far the best last area in the series was the World Tree/ Orbital Station. That’s my favorite final area in any jrpg I’ve ever played.
@joelsasmad Жыл бұрын
@@jairekambui7738 That's fine thematically, on paper but in execution Joran didn't t really work for me. We really don't get enough scenes to build up to his choice at the end which makes it feel kinda cheap and cliche. Back when we first saw Jordan as Consul J the game went out of it's way to shock us with how much of a twisted evil psycho the sweet kid from the flashbacks had become and how much he did not at all resemble who he used to be. There is no sign of any remaining humanity at all and really nothing in any of his scenes later to imply that. If anything, learning that he is a part of Moebius DJ, the monster that showed us in the first place how truly evil the consuls are, only further solidifies Joran as a monster. The final scene with Joran being reached by his friends would have worked so much better if there was any real hint at that humanity being there earlier. Like if he still cared about his friends from colony 9 you would think they would show some kind of reaction to them being held for a month before their execution. Maybe he would have wanted to save them but Dirk stops him and berates him for his feelings, which would have built into the idea they imply at the end of his and Dirk's relationship being an abusive one. As it stands, it makes sense that the characters care about Joran, but I feel like the player does not have anywhere near as much investment in him, and as a fan of the previous games I felt waaaaay more upset about him helping kill Nia at that moment. Is this just a me thing? You can consciously recognize something is wrong and shouldn't have happened and still be broken up about it, as they are in the very end of the game when they are forced to separate. If anything showing them have some level of internal struggle over what was going to happen would have better sold their resolution to me and better sold the idea that Moebius is a concept that exists within all of us. And no. The side quests never really address this particular point. It also would have added more actual weight to the first phase of the final boss where Z assaults the characters with their past traumas that they had already overcome. Aside from that the only thing I would change about the plot would be having N actually use his Moebius form in the final battle. It feels a bit strange that N, after being saved from defeat at the hands of Oroboros, then just goes to fight them again without any change and expects a different result. Mechanically, I have to criticize the fact that tanks pretty much just do not work alot of the time because they don't draw enough aggro. That at least can be somewhat managed by lowering your attackers damage output, but then there is the fact that most later bosses have way too much status effect resistance, making status effects pretty much useless, especially since the only option to lower status effect resistance is itself a status effect.
@jairekambui7738 Жыл бұрын
@@joelsasmadI agree Joran should’ve had more scenes and his situation should’ve been more developed. I think it was fine to introduce him as a heartless bastard in chapter 3. But by chapter 4 we could’ve seen cracks in his mobius persona. Instead they mostly focused on Dirk to make it a character moment for Eunie, which was still good, but if they had to develop it, they should’ve had more scenes. After chapter 4 I don’t think we see either of them again until the end chapter 6, which is when it all happens. I can somewhat understand though, because chapter 5 wanted to focus on N and M, the city, Mio, Sena, Ghondor and Shania, and all that. It was already a lot of heavy stuff So I’m not upset that they didn’t do anything there with Joran. The only opportunity the story presents is in chapter 4. I knew Nia wasn’t dead tbh that’s why I was more surprised than mad. I can see what they were going for with Joran and he feels like a character that had more scenes but they had to cut them. I will say in Joran’s defense, his entire character setup is completely different from Dirk and they established him much differently. Joran always seemed like an angry young man who turned to mobius. I think the story established that well enough. There seemed to be a longing for something within him, that wasn’t fulfilled. A desire to be something more, that he couldn’t be. Dirk was just a murdering psychopath who enjoyed killing enemies and allies alike. One of the most evil characters in the game. There’s no real comparison. In general I thought Chapter 7 should’ve had more scenes and was undercooked. It did feel like they might’ve planned more for it but didn’t have time. The final consul fights lack impact, there are barely any cutscenes that could’ve been used to build the characters up to having to make that final decision. Personally I was kind of thrown off that they had to leave everything behind and forget in order to restore everything, because I don’t think the story directly mentions it prior. Chapter 7 during Origin should’ve had them questioning themselves and then gaining the resolve to take out Z before the final fight. Everything about origin as a final dungeon except the amazing visual design feels undercooked. It’s basically, Monica and Ghondor show up, N fight, free Melia, Melia and Nia go gundam on Origin, last consul fights, Z fight. For the N fight, I think he had already lost the mental battle with Noah, and himself. I don’t know if he was even expecting to win or not, at that point he was just putting up a front because that’s all he had left. He didn’t have it in him anymore to go all out. We saw a change in his demeanor. In the end Noah convinced him to give it up and N decided to do what M did earlier with Mio and gave up his power and everything to Noah. Anyways, for a game that had such amazing character relationship writing and small moments it felt a bit awkward that virtually none of it was present in the last act and it was all about plot and big moments. In all I think Xenoblade 2 was the only game that really stuck the landing to deliver an amazing conclusion. Xenoblade 3 is almost there and has a great ending but I feel that the last act is a bit hollow. It had to be time or budget constraints or something. The game had the richest character writing in the series and then once they actually make it to the final area it disappeared. There has to be more there that might’ve gotten scrapped. Still it’s an absolute 10/10 game, a masterpiece. Up there for me with FFX, Persona 3, Xenoblade 2, and Nier Automata as top tier jrpgs. Chapter 5 and the beginning of 6 alone was probably the best sequence I’ve ever seen in any video game. As for the aggro problem, it’s something you see a lot of in FR with Rex, lol. I never even noticed how many issues tanks had with drawing aggro until that game.

@@joelsasmad I mean, Joran still shows a bit of humanity, in the form of his attachment to Noah and the gang. What with not just once, but twice on wanting to see them, before that cannon thing at Chapter 4. Because remember, Joran was the one who set up the whole thing of Colony 9 to fight at that valley place, to intercept the Ouroboros Stone. Now, whether he had it be the case for Noah and the others becoming Ouroboros or not, that could be up in the air for debate (chances are no, he didn't plan for that). But he still set them up to end up in that valley to fight the Lost Numbers, and he had it to where he and D goes to that place themselves, instead of anyone else. All just so he can meet his old friends, or rather "friends" like he thinks he wants to sarcastically go on saying about them. Also reminder that Crys is a character, and he holds no ill will to Noah at all, despite being Moebius now. So it might be as what Noah kept getting at with Joran, that it's just in his head, rather than what's actually going on of him thinking his friends think lowly of him. As he's kind of paranoid of what others think of him. Crys only ends up there to test their resolve, and see if the gang, especially Noah, are ready to overcome the fear that Moebius as a whole holds over them. Even telling them what defeating Z and turning back on Origin would not only mean, but does or probably will happen. So they kind of already went through that fear process, of having already acknowledge, and defeat Crys. As for why the gang is so choked up, all emotional near the end, even knowing what would happen. Like, we already went through with this, with Mio having her break down, despite knowing what they're doing, and she would want to do the same as well at the end of the day. All because they can't help but have their moment of worries still, and wanting to embrace themselves one last time, as they aren't certain what the future holds. Even though they will still move forward, despite not knowing. Future Redeem also repeating this question and theme, with the fear of not knowing what's up ahead. That really depends on if his Sword of the End carries over to his Moebius form, otherwise he's just downgrading overall. Future Redeem showing he doesn't need a Moebius form at all, as he can still kick ass, even if the players are like over leveled a bit over him.

When you talk about voice acting, and your comparison is AITSF of all things, a game that is one third for just the story length, and about 6 times shorter in completionist terms, to say that it's comparable in terms of lines for voice acting is insane to me. Yes, AITSF is techinically a VN while Xenoblade is an RPG, but to say that they have a comparable amount of lines is LUDICROUS. I get that you want everything everywhere always to be voice acted, but I feel like this is an unfair criticism to make considering the staggering amount of lines that are in the game. The "it's 2023 so everything has to be fully voice acted" belief is one I just can't get behind.

You can't say that it is Evangelion when they're clearly alluding to XenoGears.

Americans do way too much voice acting. We need more other English accents in games, they're a delight to hear.

The ending twist comes out of fucking nowhere. At no point does the game imply that the worlds will decouple leaving our teams separated.

Being able to lower your level fixed every mechanical issue I had with the game originally. By the second half of the game you just stopped gaining class exp.

Correction on chain attacks: if you finish an order with a defender, the character with the highest TP value will get reactivated (a character’s TP is equal to the amount of TP their last attack added to the chain order after bonuses, and will be the base TP of their next attack after reactivation). If you finish an order with an attacker or a hero, then a character will still be reactivated, but the choice is random. The base number of characters reactivated is 1 for 100%, 2 for 150%, and 3 for 200%. If you use a defender to end a 150% or 200% order, only the highest TP character is guaranteed to reactivate, while the remaining ones are random.

1:06:36 that is a missinformation, when Rex said "I love all of you guys" he actually didn’t get that nia was confessing to him and taught she said love as in i love my friends and only realized it afterwards (and "all of you guys" also included tora, poppie, zeke, morag and brighid. If it was only directed at nia pyra and mythra, he would’ve phrased it differently) Just not big on peoples missinterpreting a scene that they previously interpreted correctly because of new information.
@jacobmonks3722 Жыл бұрын
But in Elysium, when the architect tests their will and pits them against their own insecurities, the Nia in Rex's head brings up her feelings for him again. This means Rex had to be aware that Nia felt something deeper than just a friendship.

Can somebody explain the connection of xenoblade 1, 2 and 3 to me like I am 5 years old I don’t think I will get it any other way
@anghainguyen99517 ай бұрын
Basic some dumb guy cut the world in half, one it xenobalde 1 and other it xenoblade 2 but the world dont like that so they want merge again which end up destroy both. So 2 xeno gang have to build some big ball machine to merge shit together and when the shit merge we have some Persona 5 vilain appear, take control everything and cause the world became like in xeno 3.
