I really liked this one. Seán comes off as a very believable kid in his circumstances. Also, the story wasn't overly sentimental, while still appealing to the listener's empathy for any child in Seán's position. On a more technical note, I appreciated that there weren't tons of editing errors like some of these kinds of stories have. I think I would have prolonged Seán's stay with the Ellis's to get the evidence he needed through that night - perhaps involuntarily on Seán's part with him having to escape; or, perhaps, with him spending one last night there just to collect as much recorded evidence as he could, even if, in the end, he suffers another bruise (not too harsh - not for extra drama, but for extra evidence). Also, you said that Seán's surname is Ellis as well as the foster couple's surname. That would be quite the coincidence. I wondered for a moment if Seán were the Ellis's natural son who suffered abuse along with or instead of the foster kids his parents cared for. Finally, in a criminal trial, you don't have a plaintiff, you have the State prosecuting. Civil cases have plaintiffs.
