never seen this series before, its hilarious. Really good acting and you never know what's going to happen next. One of David Jason's best performances and the rest of the cast are brilliant, so glad I came across this gem by chance.

Fabulous series!! A gem!! Thank you. I would just like to point out that it appears episode 2 and 3 are in the wrong order and need to be renamed.

In Series 1 Episode 2 Liz is very pregnant but in Episode 3 she is only slightly pregnant, I think that the numbering of the Episodes is mixed up .

Doesn’t matter, it’s not about plot but about humour. Stripped of humour it wouldn’t be worth seeing:-)

@@MsMiklosa I really liked the show, I still do, my comment was not about the plot, it was about the two shows apparently being mis numbered.

Oh my word, the the midst of this lock-down for the whole world (specially where I live) and the golden opportunity to watch old series on KZbin, can I just leave the comment of what an absolutely gorgeous, drop-dead handsome man Michael Jayston is with a voice that could seduce by reading a telephone directory (wow - that shows my age - who in the 21st century has ever encountered a telephone directory that isn't online!). Sorry, can't get too worked up about the muddling of episodes - reckon I have enough left of my aged brain to figure out the story, specially as I watched it first time round (about 100 years ago). Apologies for rambling on, blame that on the hot toddy!

Hey heeey, hope your lockdown rules arent too bad. This is awesome, you should also watch Still Game, Kate and Koji, Dinner Ladies. So many more... Love UK and Scottish shows.

Oh yes, this is so true, I absolutely LOVE Michael Jayston, he's gorgeous and a great talent. Wish I were able to find all his plays, films and series. He is a brilliant actor and very handsome too. A very masculine face, yet sensitive - just like his voice.

Michael Jayston played Mr Rochester opposite Sorcha Cussacks Jane Eyre back in the 1970s. Wonderful

A lot of people are pointing out the parallels with Only Fools and Horses, but this series also has a lot in common with Duty Free: Gwen Taylor as the betrayed middle-class wife, the husband both an adulterer and a coward, and the other woman both socially superior and morally bankrupt, married to an emotionless husband.

This is actually episode 3. Episode 2, 'The Dentist's Dinner Party', is missing. What has been uploaded as episode 2 is episode 4. There's a mix-up.

Episode 2 has been tampered with......helium voices and only appearing in the right hand corner of screen. Shame . Why would people do that??
@LynxSouth3 жыл бұрын
@@anitastone168 People do that b/c eps get taken down for copyright infringement. The bots check the edges of the image and the sound. Maybe this one was taken down and then re-uploaded that way, or the channel owner feared it would be removed. Usually lowering the playback speed gets rid of (enough of) the helium voices. This Ep.2 though, has volume too low to help compensate for the distortion.

Little, if any, sign of the now-lauded multicultural society when this series was made - the starting pistol had not yet been fired for the coming cultural enrichment of the luckless UK.

Oh please - you can't rewrite history, you snowflake. For your info the writer the late David Nobbs was president of the Humanist Society - and a humanist by nature. One of the kindest and loveliest of writers - who wrote with warmth and understanding of human nature and individuals. He wrote about what he knew instead of trying to turn writing into a box-ticking exercise.

Ha ha ha Brian Rodney you utter tool. So obsessed you try to turn unrelated comedy fiction from over 30 years ago into validation of your moronic smallmindedness. What a sad act.

@@suewilkinson3517You're the snowflake ! Imagine getting your "knickers in a twist " over someone pointing out the truth. Diversity was forced upon the people of the UK by successive governments since the late 90's. British culture, traditions and humour have all been lost to the ideology of woke and liberals and their perceived "progressiveness" . Our British Christian values , our culture and traditions have all been deliberately eroded and it's getting worse. So don't bore everyone with you're " Oh but the producer was a humanist " bs. Are you suggesting that he was " warm and friendly ' because he was a humanist. If so that's bigoted and suggests that others who aren't can't be warm and friendly . Also , how would YOU know what he was or wasn't like? It's highly unlikely you knew him personally . Btw , diversity is NOT our strength and immigration en masse has changed the UK for the worst and to the detriment of indigenous British people , most especially the working class like me . Oh btw , "You can't rewrite history " you say ? Ha ! The irony ! You ought to tell that to yourself and include the woke extreme lefty anti white racist critical race theory R soles going around toppling statues and reinventing British history to suit their own political and selfish agendas.
