Now in Kazakhstan things are a bit more tense than they were ~40 years ago. Most Germans left the country in early 1990s, then Baltic people, Jews, Koreans, Russians, Ukrainians and other minorities, while Kazakh population has been steadily growing in number. Right now there is still a diversity preserved, especially in big cities like Astana and Almaty, but the situation is different in Western and Southern regions, where nationalistic movements are emerging... So yeah, it's complicated.

@@gd__vk6991 I mean what the fuck were Germans doing in kazakhstan in the first place?
@gd__vk69913 жыл бұрын
@@georgeaksich9017 these were Volga Germans from Russia. They were sent to Northern Kazakhstan (Kokshetau city and villages around it) mainly in 1940s, when Nazi Germany invaded USSR. Soviet authorities were afraid that there will be treason from the inside, so they just sent off all the Germans, with no care for them and their living conditions whatsoever. Even after the war, however, the Germans stayed in Kazakhstan, around one million of them. They even wanted to create an autonomous region there, but were denied. Later on, after the fall of the Berlin wall, Germany initiated a special program for the Volga Germans to return back to their historical motherland, so most of them left, although now there are still around 200k Germans living in Kazakhstan.

I live in Chelyabinsk and on disability because of mental health, but even if Roman would be interested in interviewing me, I am too socially disadapted for such a thing. Basically, mentally ill people in Russia lack any human rights, they could be forcefully committed to hospital without a genuine reason, and those hospitals are not that different from prisons. In fact, convicts consider it to better be sent to prison than to hospital because of how barbaric, unprofessional and cruel the treatment there is. I myself witnessed how a hardened criminal tried to hang himself in the toilet because he just couldn't endure the turture of the side effects of those horrible meds. The staff in hospitals is rude to the point of sadism, doctors barely talk to you and never care how well are you tolerating the treatment. Lots of awful things happens thete, like the illegal forced sterilization of the patients or the doctors taking away their flats. Basically, the treatment in hospitals done me more harm than my actual illness, I still have a recurring hightmare of being forcefully hospitalized even though it's been 5 years since my last admission. I plan to procure some cyanide or something to always have it on hand for a quick suicide to never permit it to be put there again.

@Loner Stoner What do you mean with "more Russian than black"? I mean, black is not a nationality or culture
@सुराजप्रत्येक3 жыл бұрын
@@joatanpereira4272 He means we consider this guy more as Russian, no matter he is black. And yeah, you right black is not culture or nationality. But russian is culture and nationality.

He’s got a thicker accent than Roman, and you can tell he’s not as good at speaking English as him. But it’s still really good, and he seems to understand everything Roman says. I came into this thinking the whole interview would be in Russian. Color me impressed!

@@joatanpereira4272 Some Russian ppl consider Russian = culture not nation. Basicly for me you are Russian if you lived in Russia 4-5 years and have 2-3 close friends here(ideally from different families ). Some times we forgot how it works and say something he became Chinese or American or German.(for reference image Roman who traveled round word).

I love where this channel has gone. It's hard to believe his channel was a "leafy clone" not too long ago.

I like this guy's hair cut better than Roman's. Roman is much better looking with short hair.

@Don Andretti We would not call him white, not in my country at least. I'm from Nigeria, we would likely acknowledge that he is mixed. There are many light skinned Nigerians so many people will not think too much about where he is from and would just consider him a lighter skinned version of us. I don't know any Nigerian that would call him white. Also we usually don't have to think of ourselves as black racially but in a situation where we have to think racially we would consider him one of us. Note that this is just my assessment of myself and other Nigerians. We do not all think the same and I cannot tell you what every Nigerian thinks. I have perceived the other Africans I have met to be of similar mindset but I could be wrong.

@Don Andretti @Don Andretti I never said that the difference between a light skinned Nigerian and a mixed Nigerian was not clear. I said that many of us would not dwell or think too much about how they are mixed. We might ask about it but after knowing that they are mixed many of us would consider and treat them as just lighter skinned versions of us. Also note how I said I cannot tell you how every Nigerian thinks. I have seen those videos and there isn't a doubt that a few people would call him white. However, from my experience as a Nigerian that grew up in Nigeria, has been to various parts of Nigeria and interacted with many other Africans, my assessment is that many of us would not consider him white. Which is why I said I do not know any Nigerians that would call him white. I mean I do not personally know any Nigerians that would call him white. If we were to think racially we would consider him one of us.

The only thing I know about racism in Russia as the French son of a Russian mother is the "чунга чанга" song. I don't even remember the whole cartoon, just that song. Useful video.
