Only just managed to see this, but it was worth the wait! A giallo film, Eighties style (most gialli I have seen are very much from the early 70s). I agree that female characters turn up, simply to be killed (after partially disrobing of course), and also agree it's all part of the fun. Thanks for reviewing this!

I got this one today from the 88Films sale they were having in June for just 7 pounds and I liked it a lot! It has some of the most creative murder set pieces I’ve ever seen in a giallo, some really tense scenes and I loved the soundtrack tune the composer was recording. I also loved the way the plot is set up where everything seems perfect but the main character eventually discovers clues that lead him to believe something sinister is going on, you don’t see too much of that kind of set-up in a giallo. Everyone mentions the bathroom murder but I feel like the chicken wire stabbing is a highlight myself, there’s something just so skeezy, improvised and creepy about it.

I agree the chicken wire stabbing was a brutal moment. The composers soundtrack was terrific. I’d suggest getting Delirium, it’s another great giallo.

Underatted slasher this I have the 88 films Blu not watched it in quite a while though but I remember the music score the track that keeps repeating it adding greatly to the atmosphere and also there being one pretty gory kill in there I definitely need to grab it off my shelf for a rewatch! A few 88 films blu's I have Hide And Go Shriek, Happy Hell Night, Dead Of Winter, Sleepaway Camp 2 + 3,Slaughterhouse, Prison, Sweet Sixteen, Hands Of Steel,Body Puzzle, Deadtime Stories these I feel all well worth a watch especially Prison by Renny Harlin that's an awesome 80s Horror. Don't know whether you have seen it but Delirium by Lamberto Bava which I also own on 88 films blu Is enjoyable it's quite stylishly shot as well and a more sleazy Italian giallo called Amuck that's another decent watch! Great review buddy!

Ridiculous denouement but great kills and suspense. As with most giallos we have looking women, and one of them looks a lot like Margot Robbie.

I have just picked this up! Looking forward to watching it this weekend. I was always put off getting Blade as Lamberto's films have been a bit disappointing, with the exception of Demons which is awesome. It was originally a four part TV series which was then edited into this film which also worried me. Maybe I should give his other films another look. What would say his best films were?

My favourite is Demons 1&2 body puzzle and this film are my favourite lamberto movies.

With all the gender dysphoria these days I'm surprised this hasn't been re-imagined with those themes. Most of the gialli dealt with psychiatric disorders. I guess the modern sensitives are offended by these old films. The sexual politics of these old movies have a sleazy element to them, but remember that Argento's Tenebre had us straights ogling a transsexual, part of the killer's motivation. Subversive. Argento always sympathized with the whole trans thing, which is why I'm mystified as to why this hasn't been addressed in modern films. Maybe I missed something.

I think these subjects are too charged and people are eager to jump on anything that they deem offends them.

@@manvfilm If art offends you then don't look at it. I love this stuff and never got offended by it. I never even looked away as a kid. It's savage yet beautiful art. Nature is full of savagery. I never felt the need to go on a moral crusade. Odd people.
