Halfway!! Day 6 of the 12 Outfits of Christmas involves sleeves... But the blouse from yesterday was so perfect, the only thing to make it better would be said sleeves... So they must be attempted!! And they came out just right! The perfect amount of puffy-ness in the shoulder and fullness in the cuff. This pattern really does make the perfect blouse!
What is the 12 Outfits of Christmas? A challenge to myself to create 12 wardrobe staples to wear over the holiday season from patterns and fabric I already own. Follow along to see if I complete the challenge or not!

I am so impressed not just that you are taking on all of these projects, but that you are wearing a white shirt ever. I wouldn’t be able to finish making it without getting my blood sacrifice on it. I’m always stabbing myself with the pins should probably just switch to Clips but regardless! I couldn’t keep a white shirt white, if my life literally depended on it.

It was brave of me I know!! Now I have to decide if I ever actually want to wear it out and risk the sauce drop... :p My iron is from the 50's! It's a travel iron that I found in an antique shop one day and it's so handy for little seams! Not so much for the bigger stuff though

I can see that you are improving with every shirt from that pattern! The collar is better and it looks just generally more professional. I love the fabric. I will suggest if you are doing a tighter fitting shirt or are just generally “bustier”, make sure to place one button at the apex line to prevent gaping. I never realized until another KZbinr suggested it that that was the reason so many of my RTW button front items had the gaping issue.

Thank you! It is a whole lot easier and less confusing the second time around! 😅 Button placement is key!! Maybe a sneaky snap or two could help as well... I'll look out for it the next time I make anything buttoned!

Just curious about what you use to finish your seams on the inside of your projects? I’ve seen quite a few videos and haven’t seen any seam finishes.

You caught me! Normally I love to fell my seams- even though it's not always historically appropriate... Or even the best method! I just find the hand sewing relaxing! But because these latest projects have been on such a tight deadline I've been slacking off on the finishing... That's my after Christmas project!! xx
