A Boat Ride on Caddo Lake in east Texas

We learned from our Stephen F. Austin University biology professor Dr. Rainwater, that Caddo Lake is Texas' largest natural lake (meaning not created by dams, etc). Thank you for mentioning this and Big Pines Lodge....a favorite eating place of ours, too! Very interesting and important for natural history and scientific studies. Don Henly of Eagles fame, and Texas native, helped found The Caddo Lake Institute to help protect it.

Since you are into videos etc, If you ever get the chance to come back, I highly recommend you booking a trip with Robert Miller Photography, he is easily found on FB and has a website as well. He is licensed for booking trips on this lake as well. Fun fact for you, this lake is still on the books by the Navigational System because like you mentioned it was once one of the largest ports etc. Since it is still on the books, to do commercial bookings you have to be a licensed navigational captain for commercial purposes etc. Just a fun fact. There are several all around Caddo Lake. I did Captain Ron's Swamp Tours. Do a search on google maps and you'll see multiple.

I read it's the ONLY natural lake in Texas
