MalcontentSoul There's no maybe. its 100% attention whoring. graffiti isn't ego driven unless you have a big ego then it is, but the ego in graffiti is about infamy.. not just cheap fame on social media. its about being infamous. most oldschool guys like ojae, cap, desa, sane and dez did it for the sheer buzz of bombing not for the buzz of how many hits your clip or pictures will get. sane was a graffiti king.. he bombed the Brooklyn bridge and got all over the news gets fined 1million dollars and committed suicide.... he tagged at least every 20 metres from his last tag and didn't put himself in front of a camera once.. he earned his spot as a guy to look up to yet no one even knows him now... ojae is like 50 and he goes out and destroys the places with his hood up for the love of it.. desa got his “fame” in the news by bombing the shit out of new york and being known and wanted as "the million dollar vandal".. that's how you get recognized in the graffiti world and beyond... but meanwhile this guy does tags in a gimp suit and naked throwups on camera and is being regarded as a legend.
