love to get into slaughterhouse five soon. i've not read three musketeers but the count of monte cristo is my ABSOLUTE favourite book! do not let the size intimidate you - it is SO exciting, so fast paced, so plot heavy. there is something in there for everyone. if you ever have the time, i'd highly recommend! :)

One of my best friends LOVES monte cristo! Definitely on my radar

It's my favourite book of all time. It's the first book I remember receiving from my dad, and I've read it countless times. I've read the long and shortened Finnish translations, the English, French and Spanish ones, too, to learn the language and especially the French because it was original. Musketeers and Monte-Cristo were originally published as serials in magazines, and if I remember correctly, he was paid per line/word. So the incentive was there not to be concise. This is not to say that there's much fluff there, the things the second Finnish version edited out were some of my favourites. He's so good in depicting the scenes like rooms, how they smell, textures, light, which I appreciate so much. I just finished re-reading Alfred Bester's the stars my destination, which is a sci-fi classic that has been described the Monte-Cristo of sci-fi, because of similarities in the plot. A fun read of 197 pages.

I recommend the Hogarth Shakespeare series. It's a series of books put out by Hogarth Press where an author takes a shakespeare play and does a sort of re-telling or cover version of it. Margaret Attwood covered The Tempest with her book Hag-Seed, Jeanette Winterson covered The Winters Tale with her book The Gap of Time, Tracy Chevalier covered Othello with her book New Boy (setting it in a childrens playground in the 1970's), and there are others. I've read those 3 as well as Vinegar Girl by Anne Tyler (covering The Taming of the Shrew), and Dunbar by Edward St Aubyn (covering King Lear). There are 2 others that I haven't read. Hag-Seed was probably my favourite. I definitely recommend reading the corresponding Shakespeare play first though. Happy reading 🙂

Have you read any Joseph Campbell? I remember you were reading about mythology some time back... I think you'd enjoy him. He was very influenced by Carl Jung. Also, take your time getting to Ayn Rand. It's fine.
@kirawasadiver2 жыл бұрын
i've never read Joseph Campbell but I've just tabbed 'the power of myth' on goodreads thank you. I love Jung but haven't read something by him yet - i'm just interested in his theories. thanks for the heads up about Ayn Rand.... ugh

Free-drick Knee-che is how I would pronounce it 😁 Nice haul! Have you read much Stephen King? He has several collections of short stories and novellas, they're great for when you want a shorter read.

Oh I only own fat novels by him which is the reason for why I’m yet to pick him up. When I do my physical TBR video soon he will pop up!

In high school I read mostly Black writers and hipsters. No Shakespeare at all. My wife's family had people over to act out Shakespeare. Very different. We read one or two plays annually before seeing the plays. Erewhon, the one I'm now reading, has got me quite engaged. This place is back asswards. If you get sick you're punished. Some crimes are given the thumbs up. This guy can get away with more because he's fair haired. Sorta dystopian. It's a Penguin English Library edition. Enjoy your reading!!

Hi Kira, Another great video! Keep um' coming! You look well rested and always beautiful! This may be a little off - kilter from the subject of classics but I want to know if you would consider reading horror novels by Clive Barker. Also, If you would check out my favourite poet Edgar Allan Poe.I love the poem - the Raven .

Hello Kira! I'm glad to see you! 🥰🥰 I love the exchange where you live You write? It's good that you like romance, do you like terror? Lovecraft, Poe, etc. I'm reading crime and punishment (although it's not in this video, but you talked about it in a previous video) Also, most of the books in your video "Year-End Book" are in Spanish, very good. Have a nice day! ❤️

But it would be awesome and amazing if you go to a library and chat with a librarian and chat 💬 with them about studio album in my opinion both studio album and book 📕 both have number and song title example Chapter 3 This Time Around is chapter 3 which is chapter means A chapter is a main division of a book, usually with a number or title. And I hope it lines up with a book 📕 that would be awesome 😎 and amazing 🥲 too.
