The 'Holland Land Co.' spoken of was the same one behind the development of Boonville, Barneveld, Holland Patent, and etc. in central New York. There is a small museum recording them in Batavia, NY.

Huge huge fan of your videos, you should do one on Columbia County! Maybe the free area that sat between the manors (with Hudson, etc), and the industry that used to exist there. Its very sleepy now but it was quite bustling place 100-250 years ago.

There was little wars fought near the border of Massachusetts - a little invasion by a Massachusetts landowner, with a skirmish in Ancram. The guy later reprimanded by the state government. Ingersoll I am pretty sure was his name.

I read where the name came from an early Christian jesuit priest who's last name was Busti. Because it was anglicized to Buffalo.
