@crazyeaglefan 'Two sides of a story' doesn't mean that what he said was not facts. But it means that there are other facts that he did not say. Let me mention a couple of them: 1. The jews left the land 70 years after Christ and returned during the British mandate 1900 years later! This means that they had to almost wipe off the people who lived there for 1900 years ! They did many massacres documented by their historians, and of course they themselves suffered from massacres (which the people of the land call resistance). 2. The Christians in Gaza definitely suffered at the hands of Hamas , but who are left of them are suffering more at the hands of the Israelis. You just need to listen to a Christian from Gaza to believe me. Just think about how the old Greek Orthodox church was bombed in the very early days of the fight, and many Gazan Christians taking shelter there were killed. Just one day before the IDF killed three of the hostages, mistaking them for Palestinians, a sniper killed a Christian old lady and her daughter inside the ground of a Catholic church. I'm telling you 'facts' that were told on the mainstream news. The details you hear from Christians, that is not on the news, are not better, of course. 3. He says this war is not against Palestinians, while Israel destroyed the city completely and killed over 22000 people until now. 4. Why did Israel leave Hamas grow this much , while the Egyptian army who is 85 % Muslims were able to limit the activity of Muslim Brotherhood (the mother of Hamas) in Egypt ? And by the way, the US wasn't happy about that , for the same reason . They believe that these Islamists weaken their own people, so they encourage their authority, forgetting that they will turn against them one day. And, of course, the US while encouraging them, totally forgets about the Christians in Egypt, Gaza, or Palestine. Just for the record, Christians in Egypt are no less than 12% of the population, which makes them around 15 million. And Palestinian Christians, before the Jewish state, were 20% of the population, now they became 2% under both the Hamas and Israeli rule.

My question is...why won't Egypt annex Gaza now? Won't that solve the problem of jurisdiction in that area? Palestinians can live in an Arab state and Israel can finally let it go and wash its hands off it. Why did Egypt give it up then and why won't they take it now? The land across the Jordan River, Transjordan was the state that was given to the Arabs and other non-Jews in the area. As an English teacher, when explaining an action in the past that ended in the past, I suggest you use the simple past tense; instead of "has become", "BECAME"; "which will be joined" - "which WAS joined"; "Egypt has decided" - "Egypt DECIDED to block"; etc.

It's a natural thing that occurs as people settle into a place; like how you might refer to people who live in a city like Paris and Parisians They don't stop being French, but it's a more precise way of speaking about them Palestinians don't cease to be Arabs, and they aren't the ancient Philistines, but they're accurately named by the region they live in and are a distinct group from wider Arabia as with other nations such as Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Etc. You could refer to all of them as Arabs and technically be correct, but to be specific and recognize the divisions and unique groups you narrow it down by different ways of naming groups of people. This kind of name in particular would be called a toponym; a name based on location, sort of like how Jesus would be referred to as Jesus of Nazareth or His association would be a Nazarene, He's still a Jew, but He's from the region of Nazareth.

One correction in his synopsis of events. He said, "In 2005 Israel UNILATERALLY withdrew from the Gaza strip". Not quite. He forgot to mention Israel (and Ariel Sharon, its Prime Minister) were COMPELLED by President George W. Bush, in his infamous "Land for Peace" strategy for "peace" between Israel and the Palestinians. Thousands of Israelis were FORCED from their productive farms and Kibbutz under this wrong-headed strategy. Hurricane Katrina, the most DESTRUCTIVE Hurricane in the history of the U.S. struck the U.S. DAYS after this happened, Ariel Sharon the Prime Minister of Israel suffered a massive stroke soon after. And the Palestinians, shortly afterwards began using the Gaza strip as a forward operating base for terror attacks and rocket attacks against Israel. Netanyahu is right. It would be a vast mistake for Israel to (1. halt military operations in the Gaza until Hamas is utterly destroyed, and (2. Ever cede control of Gaza to the Palestinians again. Gaza has been a hotbed of war and violence against Israel since Joshua and the Israelites entered the land 3,500 years. Time for Israel to stop "kow-towing" to the New World Order and start TRUSTING GOD, who restored them to the land after two millennia- against all odds!

Thank you for your accurate historical account. As a Christian I love the Jewish people. I stand with One for Israel. All God's prophetic promises to Israel will be fulfilled. One being the gathering back to the promised and of their ancestors in the end times. The Messiah promised to Israel is our Lord Jesus Christ, saviour of the World. He is returning and will deliver Israel. Regarding the Jewish people - Romans 9, 10 11 The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
