A Brief History of Qatar

With the World Cup in full swing, Qatar is in the spotlights - However, most of the media coverage seems to have been split between the football itself, and the contraversial decision to award the competition to Qatar. As a result, the history of the small gulf state itself seems to have been neglected - so here is a brief history of Qatar.
