@@Stuart_George North Carolina. I have wanted to visit England for some time. I love watching you guys film there. In my later adult years I made a study of English royalty starting with Richard I. The Tudors are an intersting Royal dynasty to learn about. (Henry VII, Henry VIII and Elizabeth I amongst them). In fact I live very close to one of Henry VIII's palaces, Hampton Court, and will probably do a bit of filming from there soon.

If that’s a public road, I’m guessing the film studio put all the cones out....do they have permission to stop people parking ?
@Stuart_George5 жыл бұрын
They did have signs on their fence, 'No studio parking'. I did wonder myself if they can just put out cones when and where they chose. It may be that the local authority ask them to do it, on days when they expect a lot of visitors or staff, or film extras.

I think the studio did. There were signs along thier fence that said something like 'No Studio Parking'. I thought that was a bit wrong. If I wasn't using the studio, are you saying I CAN park there? Well I would, if you hadn't put all these stupid cones there! I don't know if they are there every day, maybe just on days when they expect a lot of visitors/film staff. @Stuart_George5 жыл бұрын
@@tintersniffer9929 somebody else was questioning the cones, and I posted a similar reply on their comment. However, I added that, perhaps, the local authority 'ask/give permission to' the studio to put the cones out on certain days. If that is 'legal' or not, is a matter for investigation.

Signage on the fence stated 'No studio parking'. A few comments have been asking the same thing. Can a private company control parking along a public road? The sign is OK, it's a request for users of the site, not to park there, but that's all, it's a request.

I think one of the happiest days of my life....( one I wish I could go back & experience again )....was back in the late 1960s, when I was around 12 or 13. Went on a tour of Universal Studios in southern California. Still a working studio back then. I returned in the late 1990s, but the place had been turned into an amusement park. The tram tour had shortened dramatically from the old days.
@Stuart_George5 жыл бұрын
I think I did that tram tour when I was a kid too. I seem to remember two bits, mainly. One was where Jaws came rushing up out of the water, right by the tram. The other was where the tram stops in a typical US small towm 'main street'. Suddenly a huge wall of flood water comes rushing down the street towards you. Of course, it diverted or drained away before it reached us, but those two memories have always stuck with me for some reason.

I believe they did. This is also the source of the urban myth (or truth) as to why there are loads of wild parakeets around the area (and now further afield across Surrey and London). The story goes that some parakeets escaped from the sets during filming in 1951,, found conditions acceptable here, and started breeding. Roll on to todays date, and there are large populations of ring necked parakeets across some parts of Surrey and London.
