Shadows of Evil was for me also the first map i got really obsessed with zombies. I played since Bo1 but this game is a landmark and will always be. This time in my life was so good. I got my girlfriend whos now my wife and i had so much good memories at this time period. The fact that zombies chronicles came out was another point that makes this game the best of all Cod Zombies titles. I really miss this time and always had i smile on my face when iam going to see this game and gameplay❤ This had a rent free place in my head forever❤

Black ops 2 was my first zombies game too, but I never got the DLC. One of my favorite things about it was grief on town and I really hope they bring back grief at least for liberty falls or something

Definitely play black ops 3, but start with black ops 1 and 2! they can be a bit rough, but they're a lot simpler, and built around survival, whereas a lot of black ops 3 is grandiose and huge. Hope you enjoy your time!

MWZ was Outbreak crossed with DMZ and it worked pretty well actually, even from an OG perspective, having been around since the start, I felt it was a fresh take, and Out break finally fleshed out. Also can't believe he didn't even mention it in either segment

Really cool idea, thanks for the nostalgia and it was fun to hear about your journey :) This probably makes me too positive to a fault, but to defend Vanguard for a second (what a yucky sentence): I do think there’s a vision buried deep under there. I’m a big fan of rogue-like games, and I can see how the bones of Vanguard were *intended* to work: randomly generated, bite-sized objectives to do rapid fire, one after the other on a wide variety of maps, building a very randomized loadout of passive Covenants to add variety to the gunplay But there was literally 1/100th of the content needed to make that work, so it got repetitive after a single game. I fully agree that the mode was a dishonestly advertised, abject failure, I don’t think it’s actually good, but if you squint you can see that the individual devs behind the project still had some interesting ideas

Although I was disappointed that there weren’t more round based maps, I really did enjoy playing Outbreak, and that was constantly getting updated during the in between releases. Given the maps were repurposed multiplayer maps, it was such a fun spin on the formula that I wasn’t that upset.

If you're in the honeymoon phase for BO6, then I guess I am too. BO6 is great. It's the first game that's pulled me away from playing bo3 as much. I absolutely love 6. MP and Zombies. And DLC2 releasing so early makes me think they have something up their sleeve for future zombies content. Whether it's a bonus survival map, a paid side map, new game mode(s), or even setting up ZC2. Just think something is up down the road. And I'm here for it.

Bo6 zombies is great. Most of the people hating are just people who are unwilling to accept the changes it has from classic zombies and will forever let themselves be dominated by nostalgia. Which is a shame, cause they close themselves off from experiencing the new and giving it a chance.

@Samuel2oh9 Couldn't agree more. Ive had nothing but fun with it. Zombies needs some changes, mainly with guns to make high round options more viable, but other than that it's good stuff. Only other thing that drives me nuts is the 6 bottles in the bar on Citadelle. The signs I need for the undercroft puzzle don't render in real good. Ive changed settings and such but they are still blurry and barely able to be made out.

I feel like Terminus is suffering because it's a map that's about 50% water that you need a boat for. That's not zombies, it's Outbreak nonsense. Also putting your map in the ocean is a cheap way to create a huge map. You just separate the islands more, add more open ocean between.. I'd be interested in some stats on how much of that map is water versus land. 😉

Dude all this just made me realize that I loved MW3Z. I agree what made it appealing is that it was different and didn't try to be round based. Just my opinion they should make an open world extraction zombies free-to-play like Warzone. I would play that all day.

Couldn't agree more. It's was such a breath of fresh air and I realized pve extraction zombies is my thing after playing zombies since BO1. And updated MWZ along warzones update schedule would be awesome. I'd even buy the yearly released game for it.

Having been playing Cod Zombies since BO1’s life cycle, I am absolutely loving BO6. I just made Presige Master (with only about 100 MP matches) and am almost done with Afterlife camos. My only complaint is that the Zombies deal more damage in higher rounds. It just so inconsistent to me. Going from like 15-18 hits in the teens/20’s to what feels like a 5 hit down in the 50/60’s.

16:58 speaking as a “hardcore player” difference is shadows was ahead of its time while Terminus just isn’t enough of what we want. Shadows heavily innovated and was just a different vibe for us to warm up to. Terminus does not have all the elements we want out of a zombie map. Shadows does everything perfect, terminus does not and is lacking a lot. So, it’s not the same situation with bo3 and the Giant with Terminus and Liberty at all. Terminus is being forgotten bc the map has nothing else to offer especially within the modern mechanics. Bo6 as a whole, quest design and gameplay mechanics, is very linear and casual friendly and turns off “hardcore players” looking to replay maps. That “hard” SOE PAP quest you complained about that is just 4 rituals can be done in any order and offers options to play different each time and offers a rewarding quest to complete. Terminus turning PAP on is extremely boring. That might appeal to a casual, but that is the opposite to what appeals to “hardcore players”. We want a map that takes time to master and can continue to be optimized with long rewarding quests. Not simple short easy. The bo3 launch situation is not the same as the bo6 launch situation for a “hardcore player”. We’ve played zombies long enough to tell if a map is worth coming back to or not.

You can jump up from one floor to the next in the elevator shaft, just put your back to the open shaft and jump and you can mantle to the floor above you (pro tip)

Honestly, Cold War is the first COD game i ever bought myself, and that was mostly due to the fact that the "open world" zombies was there, its the only game/gamemode i have played as much as i have in any cod game, and to this day, Cold war zombies as well as mw3 zombies is the only reason im still actually playing zombies

The conclusion I drew from this is that the Zombies Community never knows what their actual opinion on something is until years later and the dust has settled, so a lot of the BO6 hate is unjustified and getting stale.

16:24 I was one of those players who didn't like shadows of evil and still don't. I am a huge fan of origins so transitioning from origins to shadows felt so weird. It went from war theme to all jazzy/swingy theme. It ruins the whole "zombie apocalypse" atmosphere if you ask me. Easter egg itself was good but I would play on "the giant" to camo grind and to go for high rounds. Stayed playing on the giant until der eisendrache came out.

Nothing like blaming 24 players on a map and never knowing what squad you'll join in t3, and swaping squads at the end of the match because the other squad is doing the DA you want. Just to end up doing the Red Worm first. Probably the most fun I've ever had in a game.

I was a solo player as well until about the end of season 3 and just started joining up with random squads and it was like a whole new game for me. Solo or squading up MWZ is something special for sure.

25:23 “revelations worst zombies ever” dude you say you were there but were you? Revelations was the peak of the zombies community until blood of the dead announcement. There were over 100k viewers on single streams hunting for a week long Easter egg. And EE4C happened during bo3 like it was at the time and still is peak. ZNS was just buggy at launch that’s mostly what people were frustrated with. Not even comparable to todays situation with bo6 actually having major issues.

Zombies used to be so much more fun, i could sit and train for hours on die rise using the relaxing end training strat, i reached round 93 using the pre patch sliquifier so many good memories man, modern zombies is so boring and unplayable for me past round 40

I did like MW3 zombies I just didn't like how the storm forced you out so quickly. I wish instead the storm closed slowly. 1st to tier 2 then to tier 3. Then I'd be fine with like a 30 minute timer to do what I need to do before extraction or missions

I disagree i feel like nobody played bo4 cuz of the perk system... and looking at the sales its kinda wild bo4 doesnt even make the top 15 of most sold cods, legit cod 3 from 2006 sold more copies...bo3 sold how much 25 mil plus and bo4 hype was threw the roof...but it could only sell like 14 mil...i feel like fortnite had a major roll to play also but at the same time it wasent good idea to flip the systems when it was working just fine...nobody was asking for a new system
