Came here after watching Doctor Who Flux Episode 1... This is now on my list of favorite strange architectural constructs right along with the Winchester House

There's a visitor centre now at the site in Edge Hill. I've always been fascinated by the tunnels. Lots of interesting debris was thrown down into them over the years, including old coloured glass bottles.

lol "For those that have eyes in which to see, but many will not see". LOOK carefully. That block work @ 4:10 That was taken not long after his death. Does it LOOK like new block work or like an "Excavated site?

Paddington is just behind the Bears Paw and the FoWT are near on their hundredth skip. Go along and see. Check out their Facebook page, just type in Friends of Williamson's Tunnels. Amazing progress

if rubbish got dumped into the tunnels soon after JW's death in 1840, then there may be collectibles as old as 170 yrs old still down there or recovered by the Friends.

Check out the dates of when the tunnels where supposedly built. Then compare those to when slavery was abolished. Willamson was a merchant, slave ownership & trade was banned in the UK. But is wasnt in America. People have always traded in illicit goods and smuggling people from Africa to U.S after abolition was made a lit easier with theses tunnels.
