Chazz shows the value of believing in yourself. And Robert DeNiro was smart enough to the material stand on its own. Lorenzo was one of DeNiro's best performances and the rest of the cast was brilliant. Sonny is one of those characters who's larger than life because of Chazz's amazing performance. He's a character you'll never forget.

I saw Chazz Palminteri's one man show in a tiny theater in North Hollywood California back in the 1980's. After the entire show, I literally believed there were 18 or 19 people on stage. Incredible. My buddy and I were chatting out side after the show and who comes out to say "hello"? None other than Chazz himself. It was a great experience for a college kid.

That bar scene where Chaz locked the door actually happened to a friend's Italian brother. He got his butt kicked by two guys in a local bar, he went home with a bloody nose and swollen eye, his bad ass Italian father asked what happened to him. His dad proceeded to drive over to the bar, he walked in and they were still there. He locked the door and proceeded to beat both of them, didn't say a word and left them there. Talk about a bad ass!

My favorite place to be in life was on stage, in front of the camera and behind a microphone. I spent most of my life there. It truly is an escape and a deep part of who someone is. Chazz is amazing, as are you Michael! Great video.

@@michaelfranzese Hi Michael. I am not acting any longer although I would do it again. I started acting/drama/music before I even entered school and continued that to adulthood, and modeled from about 13 until well into adulthood. After I got saved, I ministered and did public speaking for 5 or 6 years, and once my book is complete and published, I will be speaking/ministering again. My life took some twists and bad turns, but like you, I have found God to be faithful. He rescued me and saved my life so many times! He is faithful!

Thank you for sharing this story as well! *A BRONX TALE* is a very nostalgic movie for me; It's always remained in my TOP 3 favorite movies of all time! The character *Sunny* shared a lot of good/sound advice with the kid *C* Some of which, were very wise words to live by, even to this very day! However personally, I'd much rather be *Loved* & *Respected* for being a solid stand-up individual, than "Feared" by those around me.

I will always love a bronx tail. My favorite movie of all time. Just like joe pesci. I love how Chazz can play the roll of a mob guy so good. He actually has you convinced. That he's really part of the mafia. He's such an amazing actor. Who can draw you into his character. No matter what roll he's playing.

I don't wanna be annoying, sir, but watching your sit downs with your daughters I got an idea: how about the sit down with Mrs. Franzese? Chatting about dating, raising children, remembering some funny stories and adventures that happend since you are together... A lot of positive emotions! A Bronx Tale was filmed in Astoria the neighborhood I grew up in. I go by the street where C lived all the time. The bar where they beat up the biker gang is now a real estate office. The Sorriso deli on the corner makes awesome sandwiches if you ever visit. 44st and 30th Ave in Astoria.

There are still Greek restaurants and cafes in Astoria although probably not as many as 25-30 years ago. The L train goes through Brooklyn, you probably remember the N or R trains.

First of all - I had the privilege of working with Chazz many days on Godfather of Harlem - and I could tell you that in person he is just as cool,classy, gracious and friendly as he appears on film and in his interviews! A True New York legend. And seeing him doing The Bronx Tale in person is just an absolute revelation - it really is just staggeringly brilliant work. And after seeing it - it is very easy to see how it turned him into an international SuperStar!

I just saw the show last night (#996). It's an amazing feat of acting, to watch him use gestures and body positioning to change from one character to another in order to tell the story to an audience throughout the theater. But on the other hand, that's how all us old Italian guys tell our stories.
