This is what Vince does, he attempts to play nice to placate the talent and show him the benefits of if they sign. However, it works both ways as it also shows the talent that all the push will vanish if they don't sign. Since apparently, Rey has signed, Vince doesn't need to promise shit just use him however he wants... even doing programs that are 15 years old and play into creepy predatory plotlines. I just feel bad for Rey and the Mysterio family as a whole, all he wants is a place for his son to get good work in this shitty economy. That's more than understandable... but he has to dance for the devil to do it.

Shane brought retribution in without anyone knowing while also starting raw ug. he can cut a promo about how he's never been trusted with the company on its flagship show, say something about him being told "maybe if it were the end of the world", relate that to the actual state of the world this year and say "hahahaha i've been running the show this whole damn time and you didnt know because you're a dork." then all the riff raff is gone with the storylines, theres all these heels under shane and a few of them excel because shane picks favorites, the rest slowing seperate from the faction. could be a good time and also explain why these dastardly retributions guys dont mess with ug and have contracts and whatnot. idk. thanks for attending my TED talk

You forgot to mention how Braun vs Dabba-Kato was built up for two weeks and Kato lost in less than two minutes. Near seven feet tall, menacing look, and ended before he started for no apparent reason. Look you want Retribution to mean something? It can still be saved if you do the whole Team WWE vs Team Retribution SS match and put Daniel Bryan as Team WWE. Bryan ends up turning on, say, Orton and Retribution wins since nobody has been put through hell like Bryan on the current roster for ten years and you give Bryan a promo slot on RAW to talk that ten year period over and remind people. Bryan is the leader, then at TLC there's a match for one month control of WWE and the WWE Championship. In that match, Dabba-Kato prevents Shane and Stephanie from interfering and Bryan wins, then HHH comes out to protect Steph and Shane low blows him. Shane reveals RAW Underground was a cover to train and prepare his army, Retribution, to take over and he's the one who signed their contracts. He mentions how he and Bryan had a plan for the last two years to take over WWE, and at WrestleMania 37 they propose one final match for full control of WWE - this way you swan song Vince and make Shane the new "Mr. McMahon" as he fires his own father. Shane's the boss, Bryan's the in-ring leader, and you have old and new stars making up Retribution to fight those who support HHH, NXT, etc. Easy year or more of storylines and matches, its not hard!

WWE is going down like WCW did. It will happen at some point, Wrestling will be better off without WWE and with AEW as the leader. Hopefully by that time, AEW will be near perfection.

Look, I adore everyone involved in the story, but this whole Nexus remake was a complete flop from the start, and the way the story went on Monday was such nonsense I flipped the channel. Imagine if in 1996, WCW's response to the nWo was, "We've solved the problem! We signed them all to contracts." All of those performers deserve so much better than stupid names and Bane masks IMO. Especially Mia who is one of the most talented performers out there.

What WWE should realize from this is that it DOES matter when you pull the trigger on hot storylines. The original Nexus SHOULD have had much more legs. Wade Barrett should have got the WWE Title and used the massive support of Nexus to build a HUGE Nexus vs WWE angle, not just a super short lived one. Same with champions now. Like Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre. People are generally happy they finally have become champs but it was too late! They had multiple times in previous years to strike when the iron was hot. Braun should have beat Brock in their first match. Drew could have won the title sooner after his return to WWE main roster - and actually had a live crowd to react! WWE thinks they can just wait on building stars and re-do storylines anytime they want and fans aren't gonna care. Well, turns out they do and they have many missed opportunities on the table. WWE might need a HARD and I mean HARD reset if they want to save the sinking ship.

I tuned into Raw for the first time in over 6 months. Only the 2nd time in like a year. I thought the Retribution angle could be interesting. Instead they stepped bad pornstar names on them and signed them to contracts (that change nothing other than signify they’re being paid now) that start with one of the worst tag matches I’ve ever seen. At this point, if a wrestler signs to WWE instead of going elsewhere, they’re chasing money and that’s all there is to it. If you want to be the best and coolest version of yourself, there is no chance it happens in WWE. NXT has gone from the thing that brought me back into wrestling to s merely solid wrestling show. It has flashes, but it isn’t as good as it once was. On the other hand, AEW is fun. They aren’t perfect (that women’s division needs lots of work), but there doesn’t have to be a title on the line to make storylines interesting and they aren’t doing cuck stories, DNA tests, or other daytime soap opera BS. Nothing WWE does matters anymore. Anytime spent on their products has been proven to be wasted. Nothing pays off, nothing feels like it has any lasting impact, and there is seemingly no rhyme or reason to any of the stuff they do. In contrast, AEW has coherent storylines and roles for almost everyone. The guys on the bottom of the card don’t feel buries as much as they feel like they’re waiting in the wings, incubating until it’s there time to take the reigns. AEW has a vision and it is sticking to it. And it’s working.
