Brawny Buck After seeing a two week high school relationship end because the dude was basically stalking my friend at that point I completely agree. Now if only my friends would listen to me about it and stop saying how I'm going to end up being the first to get a serious relationship and stop pestering me to see if I find any guys cute or would date, it was sweet at first now I just want to throw a soda can at them every time they bring it up.... once I actually did.

Amanda Johnson It actually shouldn't matter what age you are (as long as you're close enough to each other to be comfortable) or what part of your life you're in as long as your personalities and passions mesh well. Mind you, people are rarely mature enough for a real relationship until their mid-twenties or later, in my observations. Regardless, there will be many mistakes made along the way. Hopefully none of them will involve any stalkers.

I have a hard time believing YOU had a rebellious phase. :p I liked the episode. It was a little too annoying and grating, not allowing it to get passed a middle of the road grade from me, but I liked and appreciated what they were going for. And I can totally see AJ acting this way. Sure, she'd not batted an eye at AB doing crazy stuff before, but that's because when AB is normally doing crazy stuff, she's in the company of others. They can watch out for her. Here, AB is ALONE, with no one to watch her, and that worries AJ. And I think that has something to do with how their parents died. It's some deep trauma that she's never dealt with, given that she was forced to take on the role of mother figure long before she should have, and probably has never allowed herself the time to deal with it. But....that's just headcanon, and it should have done a better job than forcing me to pull the sappy card out to justify it. It seemed like it wanted to be funny by Flanderizing AJ, but it wanted to have some kind of big climax that taught her a lesson too, and couldn't put them together right. Also...recycled jokes/running gags...you have to be careful using them, or else you end up with Friendship is Witchcraft levels of anti-comedy.

Chafing under overprotective helicopter parenting and then leveling out to stability later actually makes sense to me. I'm on the opposite end. A pair of overworking parents rarely being around meant little restrictions on what I could do. It's a good thing I was very well behaved by dint of being the last of four children, and seeing prior mistakes from my other siblings.
