8/23/2022 What a nice little bush craft tool kit, developed over time. Once while watching another You Tube site, the presenter briefly showed (what I call) the original multi tool. Nearly every tool shown here is contained inside a handle. After a strong search I found one, it was not cheap. This tool set along with my home made tool kit allows me to do any small sized job, in the woods, The only thing that does not fit is my spoon knife. Great job, this is the kind of stuff I like to see. Make what you need, repurpose what you can, and design and make what you can't otherwise find. ;-)

When I first got into woodcarving in '73 the man who ran the Shop in The Bronx, taught us how to handle tools. We bought the tools unhandled and saved a whole lot of money. Good kit and great video

Good video and a nice kit! Zed said "gimlet" and it is a fantastic tool. I keep one in all my kits. Your 3-sided reamer is a great idea, and I may try to make one from an old file. Good stuff! Thank you. BTW, your carvings shown are really nice, wish mine were as good. Lots to learn, and that keeps life interesting...even at 68 years old.

The specific name of those hand drills is a ‘Vintage Gimlet’ and they’re so useful when working on projects. Great video Neil and smart idea converting the three sided file into an awl ~Peace~

Zed heres a vintage gimlet..😉 Read below to learn details for making the Vintage Gimlet. Ingredients: 1 - uKeg™ 64 1 Bottle (25 oz.) - Heritage Distilling Crisp Gin 18 oz. - Lime Juice 7 Ounces - Simple Syrup Ice Basil Leaf The Amazonian Eve- uKeg 64 Step-By-Step Instructions: Pour entire bottle of Heritage Distilling Crisp Gin, 18 ounces of your favourite Lime Juice, and 7 Ounces of simple syrup, into a uKeg™ 64. Both blades are still going strong and see regular use. I recommend them to anyone who asks , they have become "old friends " and accompany me on most adventures. I have used them for kuksa carving and I probably do need to sort myself out something that moves wood a bit quicker.

I love finding, refurbishing and sometimes re-purposing old hand tools, usually from car boot sales. I recently picked up 3 of those gimlets in different sizes for 50 pence each, the lady selling them said I must have a lot of wine bottles to open - sh e had no idea what they were for. I notice there are no sharpening items in your kit, I suppose that's covered elsewhere in your load out? Great video, lots of food for thought.

I love kits and this is a nice one. Been thinking of putting something similar together. Did you make the tool roll too? Would like to have seen it in more detail. I've learnt to do some sewing on my 201K and made some pouches etc and have an old cheapo waxed jacket that's dropping to bits so thinking I might cut it up and repurpose it into tool rolls etc. How about doing some vids on using a sewing machine for bushcraft projects.
