I'm also born in 1996 and BK's b-day is ironically just 3 days after mine. And like, instinctively knowing the math here, based on how old I am/was...BK was freaking only 15 or 16 (depending on upload month) in that first clip!!! and he was already so good??? Even tho guys are usually still growing at that age and it takes awhile to reach full stamina and skill potential??? A lot of idols in a dancer position have debuted in the past at ages 15-17 who don't have that much skill that he has there; there's usually a huge leap of development down the road for them. BK has just ALWAYS went nuts on developing his dance skills ig. I wouldn't say he hasn't improved even more over the years cuz he's definitely honed his own style a LOT since then it's just that ...he's def in a league of his own. The others in the clip are good too but he just always stands out when he dances...crazy good. I'm glad A.C.E is a strong all-rounder group, even tho BK still stands out as a dance centre, he's got his other 4 group members who are way more on his level than other candidates might have been. They're all strong dancers and it feels like a case of 'apples vs oranges' in comparing personal dance style, rather than a hierarchy, especially with Donghun's hard-earned leap in dance skill during the Take Me Higher era. And it's the same with BK's vocal skills when put next to A.C.E's 'main vocal' line. There's less conscious segmenting of their roles in the minds of viewers and they are a stronger team for it, for sure. BK's dance extreme skill is a facet of A.C.E's extreme skill as a whole, rather than what carries them. (Chan's in a few the early clips too, right? I know he & BK were at the same company before joining BEAT Int. & A.C.E.... I'm just never sure if I'm picking out the right face, in regards to before-braces!Chan in lower-res clips. But I think I recognize his own unique dance style in there, among some of the blurry-ish faces lol)
