Just got off a flight from NY. It's 1AM in CHICAGO. Jet Blue was kind enough to show us David Letterman... I had never heard of this guy, but as I was sleeping with my headphones on, I awoke to this beautifully written and produced song. thanks to those of you who were quick to write the song's name on DL tonight. Made my job easier in my efforts of trying to figure out who this was.

One of my favorite artists in a category that I also place Bill Callahan/Smog. A.C. Newman's music is tighter and more... composerish, and Bill lyrics are a little more creative. Both clever artists! B\

Unnecessary attempt at categorization (read: stereotyping). One that also happens to be totally off the mark. There is nothing particularly earthy, jammy, peace-y, twangy, marijuana-y, about A.C. Newman, or the New Pornographers, for that matter. Such a bizarre and asinine comment.
