Soft top is the way to go for an 'old school' Jeep - when I used to Daily Drive a '76 CJ-5 in High School I would run it with the sides rolled up and the doors off most of the year. I'd only ever run it sides-down/doors-on when it was below 50° or raining when I left the house. When we took it hunting we'd pull the top off, lay the windshield down, and only flip the windshield up if it was close to freezing.

One of the tricks I learned from my Samurai was to bungy cord a packing quilt in the top it adds some insulation, takes out some of the flapping, and you can use it to help stay warm if you get stuck on the trail. Speaking of being stuck out overnight one of those mister buddy heaters that twist on to the top of a 16 oz propane bottle can help knock down the cold

It looks really good. I will say one thing tho if those windows are like anything on the Polaris ranger soft door windows, watch the zipper on them. Eventually it will end up going bad and you’ll have to find someone that has a sewing machine heavy enough to stick a new zipper on it. Other then that they weren’t bad at all and held heat well in the ranger.

Had cj5 back in 70s-80s took an old blanket in the wintertime and draped it over the roll bar all the way to the floor kept things nice and warm, now if you have riders they can curl up in it. If ur roof and sides are flapping to much get u some foam pipe insulation and put it around roll bars it will help.

Looks like a lot of fun…take this for what it’s worth with my feelings set aside of your opinion, but if you hadn’t already done so you should try airing your tires down to about half the psi. You will potentially will attain a softer ride and less of a jerking feel while in four low 1st gear over all the obstacles with possibly less clutch ride. Just enough air in the tire to keep it on the bead through any condition will provided you with the best and even fun experience with your suspension being slightly more stiff. I would love your feed back on my suggestion in a similar setting or course in a video for the rest of the world to see. PS I enjoy your farming content and originality I am from NE Ohio keep up the good work both farming and content. I wish I could hear your dad using his working words!!

Looks very nice. I see this is an old post. I was going to say the door adjustments are common with Jeeps either with soft tops or hard tops. Usually with the old soft door the metal hinge pin is just easy to bend enough to make the small gaps close up. And the zippers all eventually hang or the pull will snap or come off track. And the soft windows will sometimes crack like glass if unzipped and folded over in winter. When I put my new rag tops on I would lay them in the sun out of the box or use a hairdryer to heat them a little to make them stretch easy. As long ago as this is you probably know all this now. Haha

These days, truck bed campers have gotten more clever and more elaborate, even having all sorts of popups and slideouts, and there are places that will make them custom for your vehicle. I wonder if Roxor could be used to haul a mini-version of a truck-bed camper?

Get you some rubber hose like fuel line or air line and slice it lengthwise halfway through with a razor. Makes good weather seal for gaps can also buy weather strip with adhesive. The hose will close the gap better I think, and there is usually extra lying around for repurpose.
