Can the passengers escape the burning plane in time? Why did the plane crash in the first place? Want to see more Mayday full episodes? Watch them here: bit.ly/3vYH6wJ

I was flying into Atlanta, Georgia from Frankfurt Germany, on a Lufthansa DC10 once in July and there was a SEVERE storm that had the airport closed. Nothing could take off and nothing could land. We had to circle the airport for about 30 minutes. That was the longest and most horrifying 30 minutes of my life. We dropped once for what seemed like 500 feet and it felt like we hit something. I guess the wings lost airflow and when it felt like we hit something was when the wings caught airflow again. When we fell, I had to catch a little travel bag I had in my lap when it sailed over my head. The lights inside the plane went out for a few minutes but the lightning was continuous and kept everything lit up. Hail started hitting the plane and it was deafening. You could hear the continuous boom if thunder. The luggage in the hold was bumping into the floor under our feet as the negative g forces made it airborne. We went up and down like a roller coaster and side to side in a violent shaking motion. One second the nose was up then it went down. We could hear the engines spooling up and down as the pilots adjusted for what they needed. People we're praying, screaming and crying and some were paralyzed with fear. Finally we landed. I wouldn't wish something like that in my worst enemy and I hope I never have to endure such a thing ever again. Edit Along the gulf states during the summer months storms get really bad because of the heat and high humidity.

Omg! Mrs Karen Bundock,what did u expect? A red carpet reception. Hyatt Regency hotel suite reserved with limousine service for you and your guest?WTF! Be grateful,,be happy be humble. You just survived a fatal plane crash. By the way any passenger evacuating a commercial aircraft during an emergency carrying luggage or carry on items,should be given a mandatory $10,000 fine plus 30 days in jail, no exceptions!

Arrive halfway down the shortest waterlogged runway on the field after telling the first officer to "put 'er down" instead of going around, and not even bother reversing the thrusters. Some things can't be explained.

A seen episode for me but I think this version focuses on the drama details . I'd rather have the investigation mostly rather than the drama.

Large families should never all travel together on the same airplane. It may be an inconvenience but if the worst should happen some will live on. Even in 2022 there's probably been a dozen accidents and crashes, so its not like the threat has been completely eliminated.

Let me guess... another re-run. Why no new episodes?
@paulazemeckis7835
@paulazemeckis7835 2 жыл бұрын
Einstein maybe you should do some research before posting such a comment given air crash investigation episodes number more than 250+. And the episodes that began in the 2000's go as far back as crashes that occurred in the 1940's. So no new crashes, just new episodes that arent recycled.

I hate when they give the personal information of the passengers like what they were doing that day does it really matter let’s get onto what happened not why somebody was traveling on the plane I mean seriously this is ridiculous

It creates a formulating narrative to help tell a story. It helps people to relate and also to show this is an extraordinary experience happening to normal everyday people. If you want pure technical science there are many white papers and lectures given free online. This program falls under the "drama-docuseries" genre. Hence the dramatic intro, anxious narration, descriptions of terror and families lives torn apart. This program is also syndicated all around the globe. Many times I'm on a hold over at some airport hotel and this is on the hotel TV. Not a good idea while in transit! Anyway..... just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I love how she didn't take into account how the Airport Emergency Services were going to take a minute to get organized. It's not like they got a heads up a rather large airplane was going to run off the runway while landing and everyone was in the trucks ready to roll. Or how it was going to take time to make sure they have everyone accounted for. It was an international flight, passports are going to have to be checked and everyone properly identified, that is going to take time. But no ...Karen there wanted everything done now.

Why do people feel the need to get their luggage after a plane crashes? Just get the F out! Even a regular flight you likely won't get your luggage for a month or two, if at all.
