I can't believe the wisdom Tom was able to impart to you over a simple interview. To be able to leave the 18th green with his hand around your shoulder with that story is nothing but magical.

I grew up in Kansas City and attended a 9 hole charity event that Tom organized with Tom Kite, Greg Norman, and Peter Jacobson. 1985 or 86. It was great, one of my favorite sports experiences as a spectator. Watching them all play up close was just incredible. Tom Kite stepped up on one hole and hit a drive I will never forget. Thanks for this video, Watson is one of the all time greats, legend.

I love Tom Watson! He represents my birth state, Missouri, very well! I was so sad how he lost in the playoff in the 2009 since it was a great story, but it could have been legendary. I'm glad to see him play once in person at the Senior PGA Championship in St. Louis a few years ago.

I LOVE Tom Watson. I maybe be a bit bias being from Kansas City, but the man is a living legend. Battled demons, and came out on top a better person. Helped David Feherty get sober too. Nothing but love and respect for the man!!

I watched Tom play on TV when I was young and he was in the finest moments the game has seen. I did not know much about the game and why I thought he was the greatest I had seen, but one time they zoomed in on his face as he was coming down the fairway at Augusta in the latter stages of the final round. That look on his face was indescribable. No doubt, no emotional uncertainty, but absolute determination. This interview is one of the best I have seen for a golfer, sportsman or with anyone in any field of endeavour. I am glad it explains so much about what I felt all those years ago. I was correct in thinking he was the greatest I have ever seen.

Absolutely love this video. Players today do not have this sort of grace and humility. I had the pleasure of caddying in a group at Augusta with Gary Player and it was very much the same. The grace and humanity that players from that era have in unlike anything today. The stories and respect for the game and those that play is unrivaled in my opinion. We need more like Mr Watson!

Respect for others, the game of golf, and one's self. Learn to accept the bad bounces as well as the good, and never surrender. Oh man - this is absolutely your calling in life. To document the great game - the great tournaments, the great personalities. This interview with one of the greatest was humbling and inspiring at the same time. Your natural love and enthusiasm for the history and tradition of golf shows through for every second of the 30-minutes you spend with this remarkable guy. You did great at Winged Foot too. I hope for many more of these sorts of in depth interviews with so many of the legends of the sport. I almost shed a tear when Tom walked off the green with you at the end. What a life experience for you. Respect man.

Absolutely loved this video. I seldom comment on anything on youtube. But this video was truly something special. Reminded me so much of my grandfather, who ultimately was the one who got me into golf. He gave me my first set of clubs when he was getting too old to play. I still think of him every time I go out to play. I love how Erik always shows different perspectives around the game of golf and how the game means different things to different people. This video definitely hit a soft spot with me. Thanks for sharing this!

Interesting insight from Tom that he was not originally a fan of Link's golf. Even after he had won a couple of Open's, he was still struggling with accepting the bounces and outcomes which come on a Link's course. I would have lost that bet. Wonderful interview, really enjoyed listening to him talk about Golf and how it parallel's life in general.

I had a chance to hold the scorecard for Tom's 4some at the Phoenix Open in 1996. John Elway was apart of the 4some and absolutely blew Tom away with natural athletic ability. While walking down the 3rd fairway Watson asked Elway, "I see that you have a small limp in your walk". They just laughed at one another and kept walking. It was amazing to see Tom turn it on when Elway was throwing darts on the back 9.

I am so grateful to have had someone like this in my life that I was able to look to for strength, guidance and support. Something about this kind of person... Not perfect, because believe it or not, no one is, but rooted in being the absolute best they can be, and being okay with whatever the result might be. Because knowing you TRULY did your best, was what said the most about you as a person. I see my Grandfather in pieces of my life everyday, and I am eternally grateful to him for many things. Golf only being one of them.

It got a little better around the 10 minute mark, but I can't tell if its a shaky hand, or the shitty video stabilization that youtube offers.
