Take a look at the website, they mention a lot about Japan, but the reality is that they're mass-produced chinese knives made out of a cheap stainless steel. Very scammy. Another possibility is that she had a seizure, which explains the crash. After an epileptic fit, there is often a sort of fugue state where people are very confused and behave strangely and irrationally, sometimes for hours. She may have felt paradoxically undressed if she suffered from hypothermia during a post-seizure fugue state and undressed her daughter because, to her, it was hot. Of course, we will never know for sure.

Thanks for covering this case; it's one I haven't heard of before. So, whiplash can actually cause a concussion by slamming the brain into the sides of the skull, and since it can take-up to 24 hours for symptoms of whiplash to become apparent, it's possible Lindsay was actually suffering from a concussion without any overt external signs of injury, and therefore acted erratically and irrationally as a consequence. No matter what happened, this case is tragic, and I feel for the deceased and the family. As always, you did an excellent job covering this!

That’s what I was thinking that she had a concussion and was in shock. She could still function but her brain wouldn’t be functioning properly and her actions were purely survival instincts and other cold weather didn’t help her situation because I think she was dragging herself and the baby across the cold, hard ground until she became hypothermic, removed her and the baby’s clothing then she succumbed to the cold. They said it was about 30 degrees outside and the ground is even colder, especially if you’re crawling across it n shock and suffering from a concussion.

It’s abhorrent and unacceptable how the police treated this case. They didn’t investigate the first 911 call placed by the tanker driver’s supervisor. Then, the first officer at the scene failed to do their job and blew off investigating the crash. This officer should have been severely disciplined or fired, but likely was not even reprimanded. Only upon receiving a third 911 call did the police actually bother investigating the crash.

It seems highly unlikely that given the nature of that accident, high rate of speed it was travelin when it left the road, and the damage to the vehicle when it hit the tree, that she wouldn't have hit her head or at least suffered a mild concussion from just the forward momentum halting so violently. Surely this would have been enough for her to lose consciousness without even having to hit anything with her head. From there it would have been simple enough for her to start to experience the effects of hypothermia while unconscious. The stuck throttle hypothesis seems like a good place to start for a cause. In the pictures provided the gas pedal is all the way down. This may have been a result of the damage to the vehicle but at least warranted further investigation of the stuck throttle hypothesis. Many people would not know how to respond to such an emergency as it is very rare and not one we bother teaching our children to be prepared for. (A few of us learned this the hard way after hokey repairs to mini bikes, lol) As a result people often panic and after failing to get it unstuck and the speed reaches higher levels they try to ride the brakes. This is useless, fighting the power of the vehicle and eventually destroying the brakes. Instead of simply putting the vehicle in neutral and then using the brakes to bring the vehicle to a halt and then shutting off the ignition. It sounds simple and obvious but when such things happen panic can cloud a person's judgement. The former scenario has been seen in a few police incidents where they encountered panicked drivers speeding down the road unable to stop runaway vehicles. One incident I recall involved terrified frantic woman who had already destroyed her brakes by the time the police had caught up to her at speeds exceeding 100mph and had to be talked through shifting the transmission into neutral over a cell phone so the police could get in front of the coasting and brakeless vehicle and force it to a safe stop.
@michelewalburn4376
@michelewalburn4376 2 жыл бұрын
I know to put the car in neutral in the case of the throttle being stuck open, accelerator down, but in a panic I can't say what I'd do first. No doubt hit the brakes. I should hope that I would quickly get my shit together, but I can't say for sure what I'd do. With a baby in the car, that adds so much stress.
@socket_error1000
@socket_error1000 2 жыл бұрын
@@michelewalburn4376 You are probably right that most people would panic in such a rare situation, even if just momentarily and that could be enough to lead to tragedy if it happened in heavy traffic or on a dangerous road. I think that while she didn't think to put the car in neutral, she might have eventually got there. It is possible that while she was trying to get the pedal unstuck she either bent down or had her eyes off the road long enough to cause her to cross the roadway and vere off the road leading to the crash. The further mystery as to why she was traveling in that direction on that road might have also been due to the stuck throttle. If the throttle issue had begun before turning onto that roadway it could have been a split second decision to get off a smaller roadway onto a more open stretch of road. This could account for her travelling in a direction away from where she should have been going. I don't think this was a ignorant woman acting irrationally but one trying desperately to solve a problem that ran out of time too soon.

My questions for law enforcement: (1) how fast was she going when she hit the tree? There would be a mark on the speedometer at moment of impact; (2) has the car been evaluated for faulty operation; and (3) did they try to get any security footage from stores along her route? This case reeks of police incompetence. The first officer seemed like he didn’t even follow protocol.

The car actually bounced apparently, and then you have a violent stop with the airbag being deployed. Surely that would leave anyone stunned to some degree, perhaps she was severely disoriented. Whether that explains all of it who knows, the forgotten coat, going the wrong way, maybe there was something already not right with her. Very sad case. Big thanks to Nick once again.

It is quite possible she suffered a concussion from the accident even though her head did not hit the windshield. A concussion can cause numerous symptoms including disorientation, confusion, visual problems, etc. Special sequence MRIs can detect physiological changes in a survivor but there might be nothing evident on an autopsy. It sounds like Lindsay was already disoriented when she started driving (away from her stated destination), and the circumstances of the crash itself sound like she was unconscious at the wheel. If Lindsay was fatigued, she could've had a "microsleep" while driving. It's also possible she had some sort of seizure - even if she had no history of epilepsy, there's a first time for everything. Epilepsy affects over 1 in 50 people, and the incidence of isolated seizures (that don't result in a formal diagnosis) is much higher. If Lindsay was concussed after the crash (and I think that's pretty likely), that's not necessarily going to be evidenced by gross head trauma at autopsy. So I think there are potentially lots of reasons for odd behavior in this case besides hypothermia. She probably did it all in a blackout state, clear toxicology screen notwithstanding.

I have experienced “unintentional acceleration” and let me tell you it’s absolutely terrifying. Both times I was able to successfully pull the accelerator back up by putting my right foot under the accelerator, also had to use left on the brakes as I was on the interstate and the car was going over 100 mph in one of the instances. I have also seen an old van experience this right before my eyes at a much lower speed, thank goodness it wasn’t too bad when he wrecked. But it sure was a sight because I am sitting waiting to go across a one lane bridge, and here comes this big van and I see it still accelerating and going right in front of me only to crash into the side of the mountain. This was probably 30 mph, that’s only reason it wasn’t much worse. While we find evidence of this unintentional acceleration by nature of the path the car took, and the shoe under the accelerator, other things just don’t seem to quite fit at the same time. LE completely dropped the ball and I find the husband a little suspicious. I wonder if her family backed up the husband’s story, did they have any idea she was supposed to be coming over? I don’t mean to be disrespectful to him, but it does give pause because I don’t know really any mothers not on drugs or mentally stable, to take their one year old out after 11pm unless it’s an emergency. This is definitely tragic, just the loss of one life, but to also have your barely one year old daughter die, I can’t imagine. But I do feel they deserved a better investigation.

Regarding this being a singular case of paradoxical undressing of another person, I can explain that. As a parent, you are totally aware that your baby overheating is deadly- babies die when they get too hot and you are so aware of it. As a mother of a baby, every fibre of your being is devoted to your baby's care and wellbeing and no matter what is going on their needs are paramount. The whole of evolution has programmed this for our species' survival. You also know that babies overheat at far lower temperatures than adults, so if a mother was at the stage of paradoxical undressing of hypothermia, your first instinct would be to strip your baby first to cool her down. Homestly, as a mother, you might be half dead yourself, but you'd still use every last iota of your being to try to ensure your baby was ok. She was being a good mama doing her best. Its heartbreaking. Rest in peace 🙏 💔💔

Maybe she called the person/place she was really driving to before she left. Boyfriend? Picking up surprise gift for husband? Was this a case of road rage? Was she running away from an aggressive driver, and crashed? Would make sense as to why she was in an area off course. The curious mind wonders...

Here's theory focusingon clarity and adding some common abduction theory elements: **Theory:** Some missing persons cases, particularly those involving vehicles found crashed or abandoned, could be the result of alien abductions gone wrong. Victims may be abducted while driving and later returned to their vehicles, disoriented, injured, and with no memory of the event. This confusion could lead to them driving erratically and crashing, or wandering off in a daze, unable to seek help or recall what happened. Or perishing as they did in this case. **In the context of Missing 411 Enigma:** This theory could apply to cases where: * **The vehicle is found crashed or abandoned with no obvious explanation.** * **Personal belongings are left untouched, suggesting a sudden departure.** * **Witnesses report seeing strange lights or objects in the area around the time of the disappearance.** * **The missing person is later found disoriented or confused, with no memory of the event.** ***Or; The missing person are found deceased. Sometimes not found at all.** **Applying it to the young woman and her child:** It's possible they experienced an alien abduction during their drive. Upon return to their car: * The trauma and disorientation could have led to the crash. * Injuries sustained during the abduction might have contributed to their inability to seek help. * Memory suppression, a common theme in abduction accounts, could explain the lack of recollection. **Further Points:** * This theory aligns with the strange and often unexplainable nature of Missing 411 cases. * It could provide an alternative explanation for disappearances in areas where traditional searches have been unsuccessful. **Note:** While this theory offers a potential explanation, it's essential to consider all possibilities and approach such topics with a critical and discerning mind.

After traveling such a long way from the start of the crash, it appears she hit the tree with significant force. The pedal must have been stuck as had happened to many other people with this same vehicle. It's hard to believe nothing else major played a role in their deaths, but there is no evidence proving otherwise. Another story I read stated the abrasions on both of them were "minor". The pedal getting stuck would have been the catalyst of an unfortunate chain of events leading to their untimely death. RIP

If you look at the series of events individually they do raise suspicion, but when you take them all together it paints a clearer picture. Their clothing being removed is the most unsettling, but it is addressed along with the cause of death. I can't help but think if a third party was involved, their wounds would have been way more severe. Especially after they were no longer wearing clothes. Just my two cents based on the little information I could gather.

The "paradoxical undressing" only occurs during hypothermia. Its is a term specifically associated. So unless someone is suffering from all the other symptoms of hypothermia then taking off all their clothes is not paradoxical undressing. its highly suspicious that coroners would use it to support a finding of hypothermia when they surely have more solid methods of determination. Not to mention the number of cases in which the missing individual has taken their clothes off in circumstances which there is little to no likelyhood of hypothermia. Its not hypothermia. Its an indication that we live in a false constructed reality. They are just left like garbage. Meters from houses and businesses. They suffered great trauma. No one could help them. They died. Whoever did it is beyond our power to give retribution. We ignore that fact because its too frightening. And instead start to make up ridiculous stories to comfort each other.

Have you ever thought about the "Mongol Empire"? Largest empire ever on Earth. Ruled two thirds of the globe. Not one road, book, statue, building, artwork...not even a brick as physical evidence. Mongolian people have no folklore or history of Ghengis Khan. So where does the story come from? It was produced as the result of a competition held by the Russian Czar. The people needed an explanation for the history and origins of the regularly invading hordes and could not be told the truth. So the Czar held a competition to see who could come up with the best alternate explanation. The Mongolian story was the winner.

Regarding a potential head injury: A concussion can occur without any actual impact or outward damage to the skull. It's possible almost everyone watching this video has suffered some level of concussion at some point in their life. Something like whiplash or a hard knock (like being tackled in a contact sport) can cause a concussion that may at the time just have left your head spinning for a moment. It's entirely possible that the coroner (or whomever conducted the autopsy) did not open the skull to check for damage. I'm also unsure if a single concussion leaves noticeable damage (repetitive head injuries, like those sustained by American football players will leave evidence). I believe, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that a coroner will look mainly just for the *cause* of death. In this case, the cause of death was hypothermia. Upon determining cause of death it might have been felt unnecessary to open the skull. This decision might depend on factors like how thorough the coroner is or the wishes of the family. If they didn't open the skull the only thing they could reliably report upon would be any outward sign of trauma to the skull which could explain why they reported no trauma.

I posted above. In the living patient, it takes a special sequence MRI to see changes from a concussion. Her head did not have to hit the windshield for a concussion. An autopsy could show no changes. The autopsy was done by a medical examiner not a coroner. It would be customary to examine the brain but without the actual report we cannot tell.

We operated within 30 minutes of a renowned hospital and most of the crew wanted to ego stroke and play doctor for 15-20 minutes rather than load , go, and figure things out on the way. The second time I had to do CPR for over 20 minutes in the back of the bus because we wasted 30 at the scene...I quit.

Very sad that the driver and first cop didn't investigate. I think the throttle theory is most probable theory. Suffered head injury than hypothermia. Just would like to mention that my Aurora's throttle stuck two different times on the interstate and the way I was able to take it out was to push the gas pedal all the way to the floor which released it. Hopefully no one needs this tip!
@buckberthod5007

12:00 You talk about the accelerator pedal getting stuck. Well in this photo, I don't even see a gas pedal. There's the E brake, the regular brake, but no gas pedal. There is however what looks like the arm of the pedal, look at the upper right hand corner of the brake pedal, you'll see a little black rod hanging down where the pedal should be. It's broken, right at the end of it, and there's no pedal in frame I can see to indicate it fell on the floor. There's some broken plastic pieces, but that'd be from the dash, not the pedal. There's also 2 drip marks on the side of the center console (far left side of the screen) but don't look like fresh blood trails, but could be dried or could even just be coffee or soda. Given there was over 12 hours from when she left at 130pm, till the 911 call at 9am the next day, and there being no external injuries, and given where she was supposedly going with the baby, I think I've got 2 theories about what could have happened. (1) She went that way because maybe she was going to a gas station, food, something along those lines for her and the kid. Pedal broke, sent her through the field and pasture. She struck the tree, sustained a serious concussion, had severe brain bleeding and confusion, and the 500 yard sprint might have been her undoing. I don't have an explanation for her undressing herself and her kid. Seems to me someone in such an unrational state of mind might have forgotten she even had a baby, and just took off out of the car. (2) Did the husband think she was cheating, or they had a serious argument and that's when she decided to go to her parents and leave him? With her being found with scratches and scrapes, maybe he had beat her up, he chased her down, forced her off the road and smothered them, then placed the bodies there, maybe undressing her to have his final way with her? Or (3) Maybe a random person forced her off the road, assaulted both her and the kid, strangled them, then discarded the bodies? There's no good way of telling of what happened, but something happened that wasn't normal

@buckberthod5007
@buckberthod5007 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheMissingEnigma Really makes me wonder if this wasn't premeditated, or a case of postpartum depression. But it still doesn't explain everything. With the length of time she was there, who knows how many people tampered with it. Not only that, but the shoddy investigation work done by the PD, including the first officer leaving the area and not doing anything about the accident, means there's lack of evidence. Not only that, but why would the drivers door be wide open but all the others closed. She thought to close the door after getting her kid out, but not her own door? Or she turned 180° in the car to unbuckle her and take her out, which wouldn't make sense if she was delirious enough to strip nude in the cold. I hate to be that guy, but I'd highly suspect the husband of having to do something with it. There is a hospital 5 minutes from the Coffee Apts, which is in the direction she was headed. Maybe she was going to get checked out, file a domestic report on her husband, and he wasn't having it so he killed them, crashed her car then planted the bodies? But even that seems like a hell of a stretch, with the only piece I see being the husband saying she was going to her parents (with the kid?) to be closer for work. It's a very common theme for abused women to go back to there mothers. But it's still a stretch. But I will say, maybe it's possible a random person forced her off the road, drug her our of the car, assaulted her, smothered her, then did the same to the kid. He drug them away so they wouldn't be found easy. With the amount of people who had been in and around the scene at that point, after the 9am, the scene would be so contaminated that you'd have a hard time finding evidence, and if there's no suspicion of sexyal abuse, then the ME wouldn't think to check for that. He's dealing with a car crash victim. What made me slightly suspicious is, the ME said he's seen it several other times. I'd like to know about those cases, when they occurred, what the circumstances where, because this could just simply be a case of a serial killer. Granted, you could consider this all a stretch but it's the logical conclusions I can draw up given the information presented.
