A casual chat about EVERYTHING I've read in 2021 so far! [CC]

I read the LOTR trilogy for the first time when I was 13 and 14-years-old. The writing style is definitely dense, but boy… I need to do a reread as well. The movies are some of my absolute favorites of all time and The Fellowship in particular is a comfort movie for me. Huh, so do you mainly read manga as pure entertainment and not really do read something “deeper”? I learned something new, that you’re not really a fan of mysteries. I kind of rarely read mysteries, but I’d say I’m still a fan of the genre and having mysteries in books. Ah being a cat owner when you speak partly in English (or whatever your native tongue) and cat. Meow meow meow. =D I honestly don't follow that many booktubers, so... Hm I will say that discussion videos have gone up in popularity this year. For those that I do follow and watch, I also feel like collectively everyone is being easier on themself when it comes to making content, which is a positive. (I did indeed listen to this like a podcast and cleaned while listening. =3)

Everything about LoTR is a comfort story for me! I rewatch the movies all the time. Yup, manga is my mindless entertainment. Some people turn to reality tv, I turn to manga haha I'm alright with having mysteries in books, but if the entire plot is focused around figuring something out, I just get frustrated from lack of information haha Ah, Catlish. The most common of mixed tongues. lol I have vaguely noticed that as well that people aren't being too strict about schedules for their videos. And discussion videos going up in popularity is definitely interesting. Yay that's perfect! I still can't believe I managed to talk for so long haha

@@cozyafternoons My LOTR dvd's are in long term storage. =( Ohh I see, books centered around a mystery aren't your thing. That's fair haha. I think doing live discussions is also a slightly easier way to create content as well. Well you have 5 months or so to catch up on! =P

Oh noooo! We have them digitally so we can watch them anywhere. Ah that's true, I've been seeing a lot of live videos recently. Lots of reading sprints and discussion things, you're right. Do you think you'd ever do something like that? I think my booktube playlist is still back in December of last year.... Hahaha

@@cozyafternoons Huh (ponders buying LOTR as a digital copy...) Yeah I do think I'd like to participate in a discussion live stream. Not sure what specific topic at the moment, but that is something I think would be fun. What about you? Oh my gosh. Oh man yeah no, I wouldn't have the patience or capacity to try and catch up that far back, especially if I was needing to watch every single video by every single booktuber I'm subscribed to. Is that what's going on for you?

I won't dissuade you haha Maybe something about fanfic? Or moving outside the US? i don't think I'd do a live stream. I'm not good at talking to people on the spot or keeping up conversations haha Yeahhhh that's kind of why I've made no progress haha I have very little motivation when there's just so much. Plus I'm kind of enjoying choosing my own books to read rather than being influenced constantly by booktube hype, so it's been a fun little experiment straying from booktube for a bit
