A Chaldean Diocese Celebrates 40 Years | This is the Day

I fondly remember the Jesuit, Fr. Robert Taft, S.J., celebrating Mass for us at Shadowbrook in the Chaldean Rite. The Jesuits had two schools in Baghdad, Baghdad College (a secondary school) and Al Hikma University, before the then government asked them to leave.

There is no Chaldean it’s Catholic Church but Chaldeans r Assyrians the end imagine not having a country and trying to get it back but can’t even decide on a a name u want to be referred too how embrassing I’m so ashamed and both of my parents r from Iraq moved out in the 90s I’m born and raised in a western country if I hadn’t of been I would be born and raised in Iraq

Sorry but what is Chaldean oh do u mean a catholic priest who is born and raised in America while is middle eastern parents moved out of Middle East but his parents ethnic background is Assyrian

I hope the Chaldeans and assyrians have a school or schools that integrates the teaching of the Aramaic language as a living language so that it may be actively preserved. it is imperative that all children are taught to read the entire gospels at least in its entirety twice a year on as an assignment in order to inculcate the catholic christian faith. and everyone should recite the athanasian creed and chalcedonian creed as well as the cantate domino of Eugene iv from the council of Florence because it is a touch stone of the eastern churches. it is the glory of the church that on that council the 700+ delegation of all the eastern patriarchates and the imperial court of Constantinople debated, reconciled, and confessed the true faith together with the bishop of Rome. most younger people have questions and doubts that are easily silenced by the above creeds. it is imperative that the bishops tell the priests to lift sermons verbatim from the catechism of the catholic church. it is tragic when someone young leaves the church simply because they are improperly taught or not taught at all about the true faith

We grow up speaking the language from our parents we originated in the Middle East but nowadays don’t live in the Middle East when most Assyrians moved out ages ago some decided to say there and r still there and raising there kids in the Middle East countries where ever they r located in the Middle East because we don’t have a country but some Assyrians moved to Europe or western countries in the 90s and have there kids born and raised Europe or western countries we grow up speaking the language just like any parents of there background having kids and there kids speaking there parents language like Russian or Filipino or Thai they grow up speaking naturally because they hear there parents speaking it or it can be genetics sure u can learn it to become fluent in it so u understand ur parents better and they understand u when they can’t understand English just like in western countries u grow up speaking English and go to school to learn more about western history and learn all these intellectual English words Aramaic isn’t just for anyone to learn it’s for those Assyrians who want to learn it to become fluent in it so there family and parents understand them as they would want them to it wouldn’t make sense for anyone to learn it

Also I can tell ur not middle eastern as in Assyrian at all to understand let alone Middle Eastern there is no such thing as Chaldeans because they r Assyrians they come from Assyrians I’m ashamed to be one because our problem is that we let religion come first before culture and the people of the ethnic community by blood by dna
