I think you are right about the car market...Stuff like that K Car will soon become a lot more desirable as folk realise that their relative simplicity and comparative modernity make them a viable alternative to ageing 21st Century stuff as well as the more tradtionally-bought Classics. We never officially got those K's here but my comments apply equally to the 1980s/90s European cars that have hitherto been overlooked.
