This is by far the best explination of these pedals on the internet. Thank you for doing this.

I think what Oora is demonstrating here is ‘think modularity’ with your gear, not specifically what he has on the table. This could easily be a Zoom R8, a Donner delay pedal, a Zoom CDR, and a Mooer/Donner looper. Throw in a Koma Field kit and you are off to the races! It’s not about the cost, it’s the ideas.
@OoraMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Justin, you perfectly get my ethos. Gear is fun, but you can do a lot with very little. In fact, most of the music I do is made with few instruments and different ideas on how to use them!

Chase bliss does so many great pedals, I just don't get it why they still produce the Habit, Blooper and Mood only in mono … after all, it's 2022!!! At least the new Generation Loss MK2 announced for autumn will be in stereo, finally!
@OoraMusic2 жыл бұрын
I asked my self that too, and I think is too keep price manageable. It is still a boutique company and If you go stereo you will have to double some components like the converters.

Mono also focuses the composer on the content. I quite like it as an initial discipline

@@stephanrewind which company are you referring too? I would say Chase Bliss doesn’t have a comparison. They also went to direct sales in order to avoid price increases. Having said all that, I wish they were stereo too.
@LoVeAmBiEnT2 жыл бұрын
It’s simple because not everything has to be in stereo always. just maybe put a nice stereo rreverb at the end of the signal but that’s about it ….I keep hearing all this concern about everything has to be stereo. Lol. Something like habit which already has enough going on would just be complete chaos if it was in stereo. Chase Bliss knows exactly what they’re doing

@@OoraMusic absolutely agree. The way the Habit can constantly references the past would give lovely coherence to a set that moves and morphs. Quick question: can you set Habit to record shorter than 3 minutes or is it fixed? And how can you stop Habit from recording or doesn't the loop degrade like in the Mood? I was thinking that if you like what you created in Habit and would like to record it somewhere, you'd need to stop Habit changing the loop. How can you accomplish this?

For anyone moaning about the cost of these pedals and lack of stereo etc, you can do all this for free with software! There just doesn't seem to be many people doing this, maybe boutique hardware looks cooler on KZbin, or it's the 'lack of tactile control' with computers (just map a MIDI controller!), I don't know. Obviously I'd buy all of these if I had plenty of spare cash, because it's a cool way to work. I just can't justify this kind of gear basically!

@@stephanrewind I don't have a problem with music creators using expensive equipment, but I do agree that some KZbinrs' focus on high end gear sends mixed messages. If people believe that they have to pay top dollar for good, interesting sounds, they're missing out on a lot of vital experimentation and learning to get the most out of stuff that's readily available (and affordable). I know guys who buy Strymon pedals because they basically don't know what they're doing, and just want stuff that sounds amazing "out of the box". Once again, that's cool if you can afford it. But there are some spectacularly creative videos around using basic things like Zoom Multistomp pedals etc.
