My marriage was built off of Stardew Valley. No joke. I had to get a new roommate during the pandemic. Low and behold the most beautiful woman Ive ever seen ended up becoming my roommate. She wanted to play Stardew Valley, so I lended her my PS4, then she invited me to start a farm with her and over the course of gameplay and just getting to know each other on deeper level we fell in love. Been together for 4 years. Married for 1. And we both attribute Stardew Valley to this. Thank you Eric Barone.

Might be time to shut off the video games if someone is that unstable. No single thing on this planet is supposed to make your life "worthwhile". The fact that you're here, when X-years ago you weren't, shows that you were given a gift so valuable that nobody with sense would squander it. You didn't create yourself, it's a sign of total failure on the intellectual and emotional levels if you ever decide to go through with something like that. Religiously, or "eVoLuTiOnArIlY", that would make one an objective failure in every sense. So the cure wouldn't be MORE retreating into "fun", it would be throwing that away, then subjecting yourself to something actually difficult and meaningful to the rest of the world for a change. But it's trendy to pretend your brain is perpetually infected with sadness while there's mountains of evidence eviscerating the subjective models we analyze psychology with, so putting your life on the line for a VIDEO GAME is somehow logical in our society.

For every person successfully throwing everything away on a leap of faith, and succeeding, there are thousands now living under bridges. I'd recommend leaping with... tempered faith. Leap while young enough to be living at your parents' place, or when you have enough in your bank account that you can afford a few years of not getting anywhere. Or, do what most people do. Keep an unfulfilling, but not horrible, career. Then use that to fund the things that do give you fulfilment in your spare time. With luck, the leap of faith won't even be needed, you'll find yourself on the other side of the gorge as if by magic.
