It's great that the foil trick works, though I'm curious why performance started to degrade since the bulb looks ok, at least from this side of the camera. I wonder if a new bulb would help though. A new bulb and a couple of connectors so you can change out the bulb in the future :D

I've made this mod plus I put more powerfull driver board inside and now EPROMs are erased in under a minute and the whole room smells ozone 😂
