love the windshield! my 97 also has one! im curious if your bike came with those mirrors when you bought it or if you bought them and put them on yourself? i like the functionality of them as you can actually see a lot compared to the stock mirrors they came with

and as for the blacked out idea not a bad idea but i could go both ways, i love the red white and chrome on these bikes. all in all though it is your bike so you should do as you please. just remember if you go all black you cant go back to original paint ;)
