I think I heard a variation of this plot line in a Something Scary segment once. Sapphire and the team there are beast at coming up with urban legends, uncanny Reddit stories, and even modern retellings of horror classics like The Masque of the Red Death (made with the COVID 19 pandemic in mind).

It seems like the we're suppose to feel good cause the family got what they deserved, when really Sergei has probably killed thousands of innocent people. He's the real monster in this story.

A good, but chilling, story! How ironic that the family of murdering cannibals, who preyed on the old and helpless, were themselves preyed on a an ancient vampire. Talk about getting your just deserts!, While cannibalism is not generally a concern, there are, especially today, quite a few people who think it is just fine to prey on poor and lonely old people. It's just too bad that such people cannot get the kind of payback that this fictional family got!
