A CINEMATIC Journey for ATLANTIC SALMON on the SPEY ROD - MARGAREE River's TENT & CHANCE Pools

Olive and I guide you through Tent & Chance pools on the Margaree River in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. We're Spey fishing for Fall run Atlantic Salmon in this one. Footage shot in October of 2022. They say an Atlantic Salmon is a fish of 1,000 casts... Not TRUE ! Try 10,000 casts ... if you are lucky. But that ONE ATLANTIC SALMON is worth it all. Thank you very much for you hard work to produce a quality product. BRAVO ZULU

I fished the Margaree in 2002 with a guide. Conditions were not prime, but I still managed to get a fish to boil on my fly. I'll take that as a victory.

Excellent vid/aud content. Simply setting up a camera so I can record my cast to send to my mentor/teacher is a chore. I can appreciate the effort and the quality is outstanding. Keep them coming.

😆 really hoping to this year! Such a tough fish to get lucky with. Going to be a great Trout season this year though... going to some new places in the province with some friends for some big Browns 😁

How do you like that Marquis? I got my hands on an old Hardy Fibalite Salmon Fly #9 and was thinking of getting that same size Marquis for it.

Great reel for sure mate! I love the classic look and sound of it... plus the drag being adjustable it handles the big tear back down the river 😁

@Aleksitusasd np... The drag is enough, but for some reason u need more u can palm drag the spool as well. Most people I know with it do outa nature and "catch'n'run shock" 😆

A downstream offhanded snap T.... otherwise I'd be using an upstream offhanded circle C

single spey is the better cast to be using its not as slashy/spooky and will catch you more fish its can be harder to learn off both shoulders but its more stealthy and better presentation in my opinion!! stunning river and the footage is amazing tight lines from scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Nice video! You need to learn the single Spey. You spook the fish with those skagit-splash-snaps-circles and you’re working very hard making many useless movements for nothing. There is no need for those casts when fishing for Atlantic salmon. This is a respectful advice. I liked the film! Cheers!

@@NSFA Since you're on it, learn it on both sides. Also snake roll both sides for downstream winds. No need for any other cast. Watch Granbo's videos. Looking forward to the next film. Cheers!
