The Swayambhunath Stupa symbolizes the enlightened mind of the Buddha. At its heart, it houses a self-arising crystal stupa that floats in the air, an extraordinary relic formed through the blessings and aspirations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
It is believed that anyone who circumambulates the stupa with deep devotion will recall their past lives, live a long life, have their wishes fulfilled, and become deserving of worship.
