If you're trying to breed superhumans then your best bet is to go for the strengthen bloodline decision. You need a character with all 3 leveled congenital traits, and one of those traits must be top tier. Once you select that decision your dynasty received a modifier that gives you a bonus that stacks with the first legacy on the blood line. With both of those stacking bonuses your dynasty will all be maxed out on positive traits within 3-5 generations. This information should be included in your guide, nobody talks about this strat.

You can also create a ruler who can strengthen bloodline right at the beginning of the game, on ironman with achievements.

My question is in regards to breeding 2 of the same congenital trait of different tiers. I will use 2 examples: A character with Beautiful(tier 3) + A character with Comely (tier 1) vs A character with Beautiful (tier 3) + A character without any (visible) beauty traits Would the tier 1 "Comely" trait *improve* the chances of getting a "Beautiful" trait? Or would it reduce the chance? Logic to me would say that Comely is better than nothing for getting a Beautiful. But I have read mixed things online (which could be misinformed) about it reducing the chances of getting Beautiful.

You didn't mention the one exception to always going for a spouse with the highest trait level: If a character has the second trait level, it's far better to marry them to someone who has the trait on the same level, since those two are practically guaranteed to pass on at least the second trait level with a good chance to reinforce it to third level. If you instead marry someone with the second trait level to someone with the third trait level, inheritance basically works as if they had entirely different traits, i.e. there is a chance to inherit either, but also a chance to inherit only the level 1 version or even no trait at all.

I know I'm a bit late but this is what I took from your video 1. take on your child as a ward and hold onto them until you have influenced what personality traits you want them to have ( until age 13 if I'm not mistaken ) 2. then at age 13 send them off to be educated by a genius or similar, followed by who ever has the highest stat you want your child to also have and if all fails just give them to someone with high learning ? Is that correct ? Liked and subbed

Though I cannot confirm I believe you might be below the minimum specs. It probably will run, but once the game goes on it starts requiring quite a bit of processing. Ck2 is free on steam, you can see how that runs first and also get a feel for the game. Definitely cant say for sure how ck3 might run for you. Thanks for watching.

A question on the guardian of a child and the education trait. I'm in a situation where I have a very low martial skill and no intelligent trait, but want to make my heir martial focused. What if I am the guardian of the child for most of his childhood so I have control of his personality traits, but then switch guardians to a martial focussed one once all 3 traits are chosen. Does that affect the likelyhood of him getting a good education trait? Basically it comes down to the question, is the education trait determined by his guardian when he reached age 16 or is it an accumulation of the guardians he had during his whole childhood?
@SmonteGaming4 жыл бұрын
Once your child is 6 and you can set his/her focus they will always receive an education trait from that focus. So in your case you'll want a bossy or rowdy son as these will both be the ideal childhood trait for marshal lifestyle. Once your child is 6, however, and you do elect the marshal focus, you'll want to hand him off to the educator as this is when the game starts calculating the level of the kids education trait. Just to be clear, educate until 6. Select desired focus. Then hand off to genius. Their focus won't change.

@@SmonteGaming Thanks for the reply. I did some research myself as well and tested a few runs. Seems that each year after age 6, looks like at the birthday, the games makes a roll to see if he scores points (higher odds with good learning traits, good guardian etc), these points get put together at age 16 to see which level perk he gets. That's what the research told me. Then in my test runs, did a few first with just the good guardian and a few with me as a guardian. Difference was quite noticeable. What I then did was a run where I had a good guardian most of the times, but at his 9th, 11th and 13th birthday, I switched to me being the guardian to get the control over the perk and then switched back to the good guardian once the perk was chosen. I was still getting the "good guardian" perk, but had control over the personality trait. Think that is the best way of dealing with it.

So I can choose for my child whether I want him to have the quality of a negotiator or of being brave or rowdy?
@SmonteGaming4 жыл бұрын
So the education trait (Midas Touched, Grey Eminence, etc.) is only controlled passively by you/your educators Intelligence trait (genius, quick etc.), their skill in the desired stat, and their learning. With the Intelligence trait being heavily favored. So there really isn't anything you can do in terms of choice when it comes to that. Brave/Rowdy type traits can be chosen by you from periodic events when you are the child's educator. You'll notice a choice to have your ward "keep brave" or "lose brave and pick up some other trait" generally causing you stress. Hope this helps.

@SmonteGaming4 жыл бұрын
So it looks like this comes from a random event for religions with the Warmonger Tenet. (this is a default tenet for Asatru) Basically if you have this tenet, there is a random chance during battle. The chance of developing Warmonger is higher when the character has any of the Brave, Impatient or Wrathful traits.

So a genius + lvl 2 education trait guardian is better than a plain lvl 4? IIRC in Ck2 the max level of trait (midas touched) was the most important in a guardian
@SmonteGaming4 жыл бұрын
The formula doesn't care about guardian's education trait (per the wiki). Based on how the game weights each factor a genius with 5 in the relevant skill and 5 in learning has the same "roll success chance" as a guardian without genius but 30 in both learning and relevant skill. So its crazy how valuable the Intelligence trait is to the education process when picking a guardian.

Thanks, i was looking for this. I keep getting bad heir because I´m doing their education. But, what about the traits? Should we also be aware about the guardian´s traits? For example, i want my heir to be an amazing commander with traits like ambitious and brave, and I find a genius character with 25 martial and 15 learning, but he is lazy, shy and sadistic... should he be the guardian?
@SmonteGaming4 жыл бұрын
Hmm automod held this comment sorry I missed it! Yes their traits will affect how they choose your child's traits. There is a way to micro manage it by switching back and forth between your Heirs guardian and yours to pick the traits when the prompt comes up and back but I'm not so sure when the game does those checks. But yes always good to consider lazy etc when picking guardian.

If I want to make a decision: "Strengten Bloodline" then I have to make sure that for at least three generations my children will have one of the traits at a high level, such as genius, so that I can move on to the next trait, beauty?
@damiang66443 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm?
@SmonteGaming3 жыл бұрын
Few things: first you must be head of your dynasty. In addition you'll need one of each of the intelligence, physical and beauty traits. Also at least one needs to be max rank so for example beautiful, quick and hale would satisfy that criteria. Finally you can't have any bad congenital traits such as inbred. My understanding is that your current ruler making the decision needs to meet these requirements and thus your children etc, do not matter.
@SithJenova4 жыл бұрын
Heya, I tried building up a clan of cannibals in the game but failed to pass it on to my children. I realise this is not a congenital trait so I tried to be a ward for my two oldest children but never got the chance to give it to them. Was this just bad luck? Would I have a higher chance if my regent would have had a higher learning stat? I have never seen AI characters in Europe or Asia have this trait, does this mean it's impossible to get it naturally if I am from one of the native cultures/religions there?
@SmonteGaming4 жыл бұрын
So, poking around a bit there really doesn't seem to be a reliable way to create cannibals outside of random events, stress, etc. It does look like you can have a decision called Faith Cannibalism which will convert all your close family members to cannibals but its has quite a few requirements that make it seem difficult to pull off. -be a cannibal -have a faith with Cannibalism Tenet -have a cannibal for court chaplain -head of faith is cannibal Amongst others. Hope this helps!
