The only path to a sustainable "closing the gap" is through enabling aboriginals to participate in real economic activity. If there is no prospect for establishment of that in remote communities, they need to be encouraged to relocate to where there is. Everything else is political window-dressing.

Could they build their own houses...in a style that allows for their cultural practices? That may encourage pride in their work and home space. How can we use their ancient stories and activities to create functional architectural homes for all of us in those environments. Other cultures globally have done this. Western/European style homes are not suitable for their climate.
