A Closer Look: The Parisian Home of Hubert de Givenchy | Cultured Elegance
In this video, we will explore the home of Hubert de Givenchy which is called The Hôtel d’Orrouer an elegant hôtel particulier that was built for a marquise in 1731. The home was designed by architect Pierre Boscry for Marguerite-Paule de Grivel d’Orrouer, marquise de Feuquières. The home sits on Rue de Grenelle and it is a masterpiece of 18th century French neo classical architecture. We will explore the interiors and the exteriors!
Tour the home of the Hubert de Givenchy house. This luxury house tour reveals the timeless beauty and sophistication of Givenchy's residences, including the iconic Château du Jonchet and Hôtel d'Orrouer. Known for his deep connection with Audrey Hepburn, Hubert de Givenchy's influence extends beyond fashion to his luxurious real estate holdings, where French neoclassical architecture shines in every detail. Whether it's an apartment tour in a Paris villa or a luxury apartment tour highlighting the Givenchy Beauty House, these homes encapsulate the designer's impeccable taste and enduring legacy.
Together let’s travel back in time as we learn about Hubert de Givenchy’s Parisian home.

Magnificent home! I especially love the lighter rooms and tall windows that let in so much light. The furnishings, tall windows and drapery make me think of 1950's photos of the grand hotels of Paris. I'm glad the chateau has been taken good care of through the centuries. I share M. de Givenchy's love of green, especially emerald green.

Balenciaga is the reason I work in fashion, I saw a program on his when I was young and decided there and then to become a designer.

More than any of the great fashion designers of the past 60 years, Hubert de Givenchy was the epitome of elegance. He designed clothes that had class and refinement, his choice of fabrics and colours were wonderful, clothes that could even be worn today. I went a while ago to Morges, Switzerland to see an exhibition of his close friend Audrey Hepburn's clothes he had designed for her, for films or her private use. For the last 13 years of her life, she had been living nearby, in Tolochenaz, near the city of Morges.

I'm trying to bring to fruition my fashion empire and I can only dream to be remotely as good as they were!!!! This kind of museum-like environment has nothing to do with the living needs of even the wealthiest people. Rather, they exist as a kind of stage for an individual's sense of self-importance. They may be gorgeous--but they're almost heartbreakingly discordant with the sense of proportion that people of understanding recognize.

😍😍😍😍😍‼‼‼ However, as much as I ADORE Givenchys' MAGNFIQUE chateau, I am, very sorry to say that I'm even more REVOLTED and DISGUSTED by what this world has become insofar as residential homes have devolved horribly into. I'm an Independent Professional Photographer who specializes in shooting 1mil + dollar homes for sale in the midwest and I dabble in interior design. What 20,30 & 40 "somethings" now consider to be "good taste" makes me run to the toilet to wretch. I've learned that you have to be BORN with a good eye and an inherent balanced sense of EVERYTHING meaning light, color, intensity of that color, tactility, proportion, geometry, etc. etc. I've learned the intractable fact that most people, from the disgustingly rich to the terribly poor don't have ANY taste in their mouths, let alone between their ears as far as any kind of exterior or interior design goes. Money never was, is or will be a guarantee (or even a prayer) of good taste. I've done 1,000's of hours of staging with repeated success and I am astounded as to just how deep the ignorance of most people goes. Looking a this video is like looking at a dream in a Disney movie of another planet, 100's of years ago. It is beyond stunning!
