Honestly i comment this on most update videos on the official cobblemon channel But i really mean it when i say to not overwork yourselves and that im thankfull for the cobblemob team to give us such a great experience and for all your passion I have so many ideas of what would be so cool to implement to make this game as compatible with the gameplay of minecraft as possible Essesntially people could make their own pokemon games in minecraft the potential is of the roof Imagine a fantasy like world where your pokemon fight on their own against mobs you fight against with a skilltree simmilar to prominence 2 or where you can become a proffessional trainer of one type like water so you get extra swimmspeed and watertype attacks get a 20% damege buff in and out of battle Neq dungeons that end up having a legendary or mythical pokemon as the final boss But im.beeing abitious here i just hope that this open source project brings many people to also input their own ideas as time goes on Im exited

As a Pokémon fan, I always loved the idea of adding Pokémon to Minecraft. This mod mod Makes the Pokémon look super crisp. The animations are absolutely peak and the models makes it belong in Minecraft blocky environment. I am looking forward to playing this mod in the future. You guys at cobblemon are doing awesome!

One thing I could suggest is for the berry plants and apricorn trees have a multi-player setting. The plants and trees that spawn to every player would appear differently instead of one plant being empty after all the fruit has been harvested by just one player.

Really excited to see some work done on AI trainers. One step closer to potentially getting gym battles and the like. The Pokedex is also really cool. The design is nice, and the features of it are sick. I love how you can scan the Pokemon, and it shows you multiple forms and animations for each one.

Heck yea, same - I can’t wait to take on the trainers. I know one of our devs, Crab, has been doing a lot of battle ai work and I expect to get my butt kicked. Also, the Pokedex has a lot of functionality still coming to it!!

no one really pointed it out but something i like is that cobblemon no longer have their name and level over their head, so there's actually a good reason to scan them with your pokedex other than getting the entries one thing i'd like to see implemented is Upgrades for the pokedex to show you things like abilities, stats, EV yeld ect when you scan a pokemon

Good points! I’d love to see more of those things for wild pokemon but they definitely are very powerful. It’d be neat to unlock species specific metrics/scanning ability, or something like that. How would you want to earn those upgrades??

@@virtcreates i agree that it's something that should be earned through progression, maybe from pokedex milestone rewards like in scarlet/violet, or drops from rare pokemon like porygon or pokemon that only spawn in structures? something that would require the player to progress in minecraft but still pokemon related

The NPCs are one of the things I'm most excited about for the future; the coolest thing about Pixelmon was the way that people could basically make whole new Pokemon games in Minecraft adventure maps using scripted NPCs and NPC trainers, shops, and custom spawners. Cobblemon is so much more polished, aesthetically pleasing, and mechanically interesting than Pixelmon to me though, so the idea of seeing what people might be able to do with it in the future has me hyped

We’ve been careful to update our data systems to not lose your info. That said, if you have any issues, be sure to report them on our gitlab! You can download a snapshot from the public discord in the description (check the bot-commands channel and use the !update command) As always, make a backup

Would it be possible for a future update to show the biomes in which pokemon spawn? The excel with the spawns is outdated (at least the last time I played, a few months ago) and sometimes you end up encountering the same pokemon over and over and over again.

The Pokedex isn’t in its final form. One of the next pieces of functionality we want to add to it is a “checkSpawn” that will let you know what can spawn around you

debating waiting till 1.6 to start my playthrough. Especially if i start now should i mod 1.5? most if not majority mods wont be working or updated to 1.6 for a min . Plus any worry that if you mod 1.5 will it corrupt or effect 1.6 bad?

If you're starting now, I'd hold off on modding it much unless you know those mods are already updated on 1.21.1! There shouldn't be any cobblemon corruption from updating (Prayers, bugs do happen but we're testing now) - under normal circumstances, updating will be totally fine (mods would throw more wrenches in that cause you would need them to update or risk some corruption too) I'd probably wait

I have a question for the devs: I have been playing in a single player world for a long time and have about 73% of all Pokémon caught. Once this update comes out is there a way to migrate the caught data from the current pokedex to the new one? Or maybe a command to detect all caught Pokémon in our PC? (The pokedex mod I am using is "Cobblemon Pokedex" by Rafacasari btw)

I believe our data structures are safe and you’ll get almost an instant update to your dex! As long as your current dex mod doesn’t change any data storage I think you’ll be good! Make sure you’re up to the most recent version of cobblemon and of course make a backup! If you run into any issues, the public discord will be very helpful!

Please add cobblemon spawning blocks to the game soon. Pixelmon has this feature and it would be perfect for me if cobblemon was able to add something like it. I like to design maps, and I'd love to make one using cobblemon, but I can't make route's or wild areas because there's no cobblemon spawner.

I’m not certain how pixelmon spawning blocks worked, I’m picturing vanilla spawners, but spawn rules are all entirely datapackable (it’s how all the spawns are done on our Cobbled Farms world) by coordinates, biomes, nearby blocks, etc.

That is a Magikarp Jump Gyarados variant! It doesn’t naturally spawn but by fishing, with the lure enchantment, you’ll be able to get yourself some magikarp variants and evolve them
